    PUSH upgrade?

I picked up a Manitou Swinger 3-way air shock for an upgrade over a stock Fox Float RL -- I wanted to get the rear suspension more balanced with the front, because the fork is a platform fork (Manitou SPV), and the rear isn't. Result: bike feels like the rear end bobs on climbs when the front end doesn't move.

Reading up on the Manitou some more, it looks like it's got a pretty sucky reputation... should I send it back and get the Fox Float upgraded by PUSH instead? Apparently their upgrade includes a Pro-Pedal platform valving.

Cost on both is close... got the Swinger for $180; PUSH's treatment is about $150; I'll need to track down some other shock hardware to use the Swinger so a few more $ there.

I have the swinger 3-way and i'm pretty sure it has platform valving. The red valve cover at the bottom end of the shock adjusts this.

The Swinger 3-way does have SPV platform valving. Guess my question wasn't very clear...

Which would be better? Stock Swinger 3-way w/ SPV, or PUSHed Fox Float RL?

I have both shocks right now, sitting in the workshop. I will need different hardware to be able to install the Manitou Swinger; the Float came with the bike, so I have all the hardware needed.

Price-wise it's not much different -- maybe $20-30 total if I keep the Swinger vs. PUSH the Float. Also, I could offset the cost of the Swinger by selling the Float, which probably makes the Swinger the cheaper option in the end.

PUSH the Fox, use that, and keep the Swinger as a backup

Another vote for PUSH here. Just got my F100x back from them, and it feels awesome. Also have had a Float R done last summer, completely happy!

I got my Vanilla RC revalved by PUSH at the beggining of this season. It rides very very well. The upgrade pretty much makes my 5 year old DH ride like it was new!

I think I'm going to ship the Swinger back and get the Float PUSH'ed. Easier in terms of mounting hardware, and all reviews of PUSH's work have been very positive.
