Hells yeah!! I think it would be fine if you just selected some of your favs or if you made the auction a "buyer picks it from your collection" sorta thing.
    Thanks LC.

setting up the auction on TGR and using paypal is a much better idea then Ebay. Ebay sellers fees are a bitch, and everyone is still covered with paypal. Ill start looking for gear to donate, im sure I can find something. Hang in there!!

Are you guys thinking only gear? I've got a brand new laptop, still in the box, that I'd be happy to donate (a firm I consult for gave it to me as a sign on bonus, however I already have one I like) that could be auctioned off... if you think people would bid for it?

Also, what about throwing a bar party to benefit Nilz? I've done those before in NYC for leukemia fundraisers for TNT, and each one has raised over $1400... basically, it's a $10 cover that goes to the cause, and then a 50/50 bar tab split. You have to do it at a bigger bar/club, and the majority of people are happy to donate to the cause... and the "regulars" don't even know that it's a fundraising party. Just a thought.

I think the laptop would be great, very frickin generous of you tacoma.
Start with a minimum bid and if nobody bites, no worries.
Thanks a lot everyone, the donations are rolling in and I think this will be a big success when we put it together after 7/4!

Just waiting for a proofread on the kick off thread, then I will post it....

Thanks to everyone helping out...let's keep the enthusiasm rollin!

We really need to get in touch with one of TGR's moderators (Frozen maybe?) so we can get things sticky when we need to. I'm hoping that at the VERY least we make the auction threads sticky....that is if we can't get them to make a seperate section for it.

Like justcuz said, we are actively working on the auction thread and other details and will get it up as soon as we can. The thread will include everything you need to know, so stay tuned!!
There are many people working behind the scenes to make this a big deal, thank you all!
And keep the monetary donations rolling into my paypal account--

this is cool shit right here.

i've been SLAMMED here at work, but in the next day or two i would like to get a couple really nice pieces up for auction. i've been saving some things for just this type of occasion.

i have a really cool & quality Pabst Blue Ribbon dart board that i know the mags will bid well for. i've got a few Guinness t-shirts, PBR tin signs and a PBR hoodie, also.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I think if my skis don't sell here, I'll then move em to ebay and run them there.
