    FS: AutoCAD LT 2007

Any drafting/architecture students out there? I purchased this on Ebay, not knowing it is a student version. It has the same features as the regular LT version but "student version" is stamped along the border when drawings are plotted. It is a nice piece of software but I cannot use it for work. I just paid $200 for it last week and my wife is pissed!

I am looking to get $100 shipped.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Generally, any student can get student versions for free from their school, hence, student version.

I stand partially corrected, but AutoDesk does not give copies away. The cheapest I could find for the student version (perpetual license) is $149 + shipping. It looks like I got shafted any way you look at it. That's what I get for not researching enough. Oh well, I am now looking to get $100 shipped.

Go to Peru and buy a copy of Pro for 5 bucks in the market.

If you're talking about a full version, it would be worth the trip. A single license of 2007 retails for $4,000 from AutoDesk. Of course, there are alternative routes. I just can't find one.

Contact ebay and tell them that the seller sold you a copy that is not legal to sell on ebay. Heaps of people get thier auctions canceled from the selling of office student edition. If it sells for more then the RRP ebay will not tolerate the sale.
Or just try and email ebay and say item recieved is not as describes

An alternate route, but it sounds like you need a legal version. If your line of work requires such software is the return not worth the initial expense? If you need help with bittorrent, let me know, but obviously, this not an appropriate source of software for business purposes.

Try contacting the seller first (for simplicity's sake). Otherwise, this would make sense, especially if the description made no mention of the item being a student version.

    Thanks for the responses.

The problem is I didn't do enough research. I knew it was a student version, but there was no mention on the Ebay listing regarding the stamps on the plotted drawings. I also didn't realize that you could buy it for $150! My sister (a college student) actually bought it for me.

Uh-oh, now I've said too much. I think I hear AutoDesk knocking.

Maybe it was just at my school, but if you talked to the right professor they would give you a cd to install on your own machine and didnt make you buy it. I really think they give out the student versions like free candy to institutions and companies who could have potential to buy many professional liscenses. Just like with at work, we can get student versions of ProE for free to install on our machines at home to "practice" or for personal use.

why don't you try to set a fake border the size of your piece of paper or a little wider than the piece of paper that you are printing on? then, create the real border at the size you want and then it gets printed ( or not printed) outside your sheet of paper, just an idea. i have autocad 97LT or something (read: old), but don't remember how it prints out.
