also UAN- while your point was made a long time ago I'd also like to point out that squads are one of only a couple of skis that are typically rated here as very stiff and most people are waved off unless they're known baddies or can clearly handle them. This is the same treatment that is given to 193 M103s.
thanks, l_b. noted. i have no more to say on the topic and am sorry for getting repetitive. i think i went overkill on the 'voice-of-reason' bit, and g_h's posts enabled me to go over the edge, only to repeat the points yet again.

sorry for that. thanks for reigning me in.

    peace.

I had a pair of Squads and traded them for the regular B4 which I have several pairs of and like very much. Ski flex is a personal thing and I like mine a bit less stiff. I felt the squad is good going really fast or for large people. Think of the word squad as in team meaning team issue ski for Rossi sponsered skiers if you ski like that you might like the squads. I guided heli skiing in Valdez and I think my guide pack was right around 30lbs, thank god it was not 50lbs. I cant figure out what the hell an LPs is though.

'legend pro', i assume, is what folks are referring to.

and the guy's pack is overkill, no doubt, but that's due to his resposnibility & personal preference.

gone_huckin -- you don't know when to quit. El K's post is of his experience and his preferences, and it's perfectly valid. however, that is a separate point from what i posted about. what people carry in the mountains is personal preference -- it's as true for guides as it is for folks at any trailhead.

why don't you ask El K to list everything in his pack? does he carry things like a snow saw? it's not on your list and your list adds up to 30 pounds... must not be something people carry.

as long as you've got your 420 kit in there...you're good.

you can draw many lines through one point.

i like your style: wait for what you want to hear, then run with it! you should be reviewing custom skis.
