    channelling my energy...relationship related, wwmd

Being single for a little over a month now and I am still stuck on my ex. I have been channelling my energy and focus into running, biking, yoga, and meditation but cannot remove myself from the relationship. The channelling has been so wonderful! I am probably in some of the best shape of my life (took 9th in the Wahsatch Steeple chase!)..mentally and physically but I need to move on and am having trouble.

    Any comments or suggestions?

4.5 years of living together to have it end abruptly for me has been really hard. Friends have been great but i would like to hear 'outsider' thoughts. And if anyone in the salt lake/pc area knows of a lady that likes to bike, run, climb, explore, travel, ski, canyoneer, yoga.....

Just typing this makes me laugh at myself. peace

Go easy on yourself. A month is not very long. Channelling like you are is a great idea. Just keep exercising and keep yourself busy. I like Tipp's idea, too.

In your travels, have you seen anyone who sparks your fancy? Look around! And talk to everybody. Sometimes you have to give yourself a little push to move on after you've lost somebody important in your life (you're really the only one who can do this). Look upon this as an opportunity to meet some cool new people around you, and enjoy it!

You can't quickly replace what you lost, but you can drink in the excitement of getting to know some very interesting new prospects. I mean, just think of all the hot monkey sex possibilities that are before you now.

Seriously mang, all the best to you. You'll find something sweet like you had again--ya just need some time. Be patient w/ yourself, but start putting out the feelers.

    Stoy man,
I would suggest joining clubs that promote or engage in the activities you mentioned, or start doing yga n a group setting.
Anything that will allow yu to meet a like minded freeak with woman parts.
aside from bars and churches ( neither of which I remember you being to stoked on) they are the best places to meet women
also, maybe some Utards may know a like minded women you could, um, meet.

Steal phUnk's new moto. He's been projectile vomiting and won't have the strength to stop you. Then go for a long, fast soul clearing ride.

Give yourself time to heal - a month is nothing (as everyone has already said). Especially if it ended abruptly.

Meanwhile, move to LA. I know lots of women that fit that description...

boy, do I know how you feel right now. Its been exactly 1 month today since my ex broke up with me. We lived together for 2 years and were in a relationship for almost 9 years.

Its been up and down and up, and down the whole time since. Sometimes Im so excited about my impending move, that I hardly think about the relationship. Then other times, I should be perfectly happy being with my friends, and then I find myself breaking down and getting upset thinking about the why's and the what if's.

I think the only thing that will help heal these wounds is time. Running has been my escape lately for when things go downhill. I keep getting faster, and I feel Im in the best shape I have ever been in. But that little tear in the fabric of your life is still there. The healing that we both seek is something that time will give. Just immerse yourself in your hobbies and in your friends. Try some new sport or activity. Im going to try to do the same and hope that my new environs provied enough of a pleasing diversion that I don't get too caught up in thoughts of the past. But I know that Im gonna make it through this hurt, and you surely will too.

    Good luck to you.

I found this out third party and was stunned. I don't know what all happened and it is none of my business.

Stay focused on you. Both Erica and I know you have a ton to give and will find the right person down the road. But maybe now is a time for you. Your activities are keeping your body in shape, how is your mind? With this thread, maybe not as good as it should be.

Alex, you need to talk, you know where I be. I would be happy to trail hike/run with you next time you head this way and shoot the shit.

WWMD, that is a good question. I wish I had an answer.

What do YOU think would help?

Buzz...classic sig! What do i think would help me right now? the truth for one. secondly, having a play partner that wants to get after it, whether that be at an aggro pace or at a snails pace...i enjoy those more peaceful runs and rides even more now than ever!

I also wish it wasn't summer and full of work fo rme because I am ready to travel! I believe seeing new places right now would be super healthy and experiencing a whole new world would be super beneficial. But for the summer, i am aiming to better my mind, body and soul to become more patient, compassionate, and full of gratitude to share with everyone I encounter!

Music and dancing have helped as well! It is nice, but strange to many Americans, to walk or run while singing and smiling

What else wold help.....hucking a smooth floating flip off a cliff and landing in some super soft utah powpow!!!!!

We've already talked about this while on the trail and I know you're looking for outside perspective here, so I'll let others chime in.

However, I gotta say, if any of you ladies (or guys that know good ladies) are single, Stoy is a catch. Keep in mind that I have an unblemished record of firm heterosexuality - this guy is a STUD. Smart, fun, happy, easy-going, and throws down with the best.

Don't worry Alex, I'm absolutely sure that you will come up smelling like roses.

SV? What's that? Rifles? Do we need lawyers and money too?

I'm so stoked about Costa Rica I'm having a hard time focusing on leaving for Europe.

Stoy, these are the problems you need, right here ^^^^.

I am all for the snails pace, let me know.

Dude, you know you are money. Let life happen. You are still young in every sense of the word. The world awaits a person of your stature.

If travelling makes you happy, then go for it. I have never seen anything get in the way of your dreams, ever. Work, people, .............

Time helps heal wounds too man, take that one to the woods and ponder.

The rest of Utah best get on the EPO if they expect to keep-up with Stoy on the skin track.

Best of luck and stay strong.

Let time do it's thing. 4.5 years is a long time brother. Meeting some new ladies would be a good start though.
