    Yeti 575 "factory" build kits

Stuck in boring meeting all day... with wireless internet access, so getting lots of surfing done.

Yeti's build kits for the 575 all look pretty solid, even the cheapest "enduro" kit. The next up in price is the "race disc" kit -- primary difference seems to be in the wheels (generic vs. DT) and fork (Fox Vanilla vs Float), and some smaller parts (stem, seatpost, cranks...) Worth the difference? (around $650) Any seriously crappy parts on the enduro kit?

Also, are the wheels on the enduro kit tubeless? Looks like the race disc kit ones are UST.

welcome to the 575 club. you will be receiving your password via PM shortly.

I have no response for you as I bought my 575 used and the guy custom built it up. That being said, UST is worth it as you can get a 575 in the mid-20# range.

It used to be that the low end build came with regular non-UST tires. I don't know what it comes with now.

And after several years, I'm now an ex-member of the 575 club. You guys are so old school.

the yeti forum on mtbr.com is currently beating a very dead horse on this very same subject.

it's extensive, as well as exhausting, but may be helpful.

My 575 is still a maggot though. Flykdog and I traded bikes.

meh, 650 bones is a lot for an upgrade for those components.
sure some of them are slightly better but the enduro kit looks solid.
With 650$ you can buy a new fork if you want to when you trash that one.
300$ will get you a sweet Marz or something, and 350$ can get you a wheelset upgrade after you trash\get tired of the 317s.

this reminds me of buying laptops, buy only what you need from the manf, then upgrade the RAM and HD later for much cheaper.

Then this is doubly good. What is it with the AGs and AS-Xs for trailbikes?

I agree with Pechelman, the Enduro kit looks really solid and the only thing I would change is the wheelset.

I have the enduro kit on mine. Solid as hell. Upgraded to carbon stays and a Float. Couldn't be happier. The wheels aren't tubeless.

It actually climbs well. And even though I've decided I like climbing - it's the technical stuff that I like climbing, not just a boring old grind. And the AS-X actually climbs up techincal stuff easier than the 575 did. I'm not as fast overall, but if I get off the bike less getting up over ledges/obstacles, I think I'll have more fun overall.

The funny thing is that a couple years ago I went on a group ride with a bunch of XC racers. Who all thought my 575 was my DH bike.

Saweeet! Welcome to the AS-X club AG (Altho I admit AS-X last year was like the 575 this year, thank God that's over.)
