    Thunderstorms= Wicked Sick!

I love thunderstorms! We are getting hammered by one right now in VT. There is nothing quite like the FLASH-Crack-Ruuuuuummmbbbbbllllee of nearby strike.

I can't see more that a couple hundred yards in front of me and the rain is coming down in buckets. I hope it hails like they say it might.

.......Of course my dog is whimpering underneath my chair.

Who in the hell ever hopes for hail? Everytime there is a storm here, I say in my head "please don't hail, please don't hail!" Have you seen what hail can do to cars? Yeah, I don't own a garage!

You know you are supposed to turn your electronics (like computers) off in an electrical (or thunder) storm.

I thought you were supposed to go outside dressed as a pirate waving a metal sword around.

    No?

You could make a sick pirate hat out of aluminum foil.

Obviously you do that after you turn off your computer. If you have no pirate outfit you can fill your bathtub and sit in it.

I do have a garage, and a laptop with a wireless router. So the worst that can happen is I fry a router and modem, both of which are easily replaceable. Thanks for the heads up though.

I personally enjoy praticing my golf swing during a storm. It helps the concentration.

I feel like I am supposed to know what that means. I think the bulk of the storm was north of me. How was it up in Rutvegas.

We lost a router, a modem, and a TV to lightning. It came through the cable, obviously. It was pretty cool.

I might have, but I am horrible with names. Sounds like a fun experience. Boats, especially slow boats, storms and water always make for an intersting time.

Personally I dig thunderstorms. We just had two rounds of them this PM here. Best I've ever seen were in the Front Range of CO, however. You'd be up kickin' back to tunes at Red Rocks and watch a supercell crawl by a hundred miles east, with fingers of lightning under them and once there was a tornado. Really fucking wild.

We just had the same storm roll thru here in NH at about 6:30. No hail bummer.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

I've lost two TV sets since the advent of cable.

Yeah that was a good afternoon up here in upstate NY. Working on a big project in Photoshop, saved every 3 minutes.

Camping summer 2001 in Co. At night listening to the thunder echo and echo. It was really cool.

So, my roomie was watching tv during some of the worst thunderstorms to hit the area in recorded history. Yup...lightning hit close by and the TV/VCR combo was fried. My dad wanted it for some reason, so, I brought it down to him. When I get back to school, my roomie asked if I got the movie back. "What movie?" I replied. Well, yup, he was rubbing one out while I was out watching the storm. Now, I'm not sure which part of this story is worse. The fact that I actually did my roomie a favor and asked for it back, or the fact that my dad said "Too bad, that's a good one, consider it finder's keepers?"

That is the main thing I miss about Arizona is the daily violent supercell t-storms in the summer.

Thunderstorms are amazing. While i was on a vacation at florida, i was at a water park and a really strong storm rolled in. I was under a pavilion, and a bolt of lightning struck the tree 20 ft away from me. i jumped about 4 feet in the air, and it was the loudest noise i've ever heard, and the tree lite on fire.

    Good times.
