It is not F'N summer yet!

So why does everyone keep say shit about it being summer? "I hope everyone is having a good summer so far." Common, we got 6-7 days to the summer solstice (haven't checked to see which day it is this year). It snowed at the freakin' Ghee today and I plan on hiking around up there to get some last weekend of spring turns in up there on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Its not summer yet. That is all.

For those of us that live in areas where it hasn't snowed since March/April- It is for sure summer. Hot, humid, muggy and the fucking bugs are out in full force.

You are just lucky enough to still be able to get some fresh snow, and some turns in. Lucky bastard!

What you talking about Ghee? Here on the shit coast, it's been summer since mid-March. So in my mind, summer is almost OVER! This summer has gone by so freaking fast that my head is spinning. June is basically over, July will fly by, and August is tit.

So basically only two more months, and it should be blizzard conditions coming around the bend.

This is how I make it through the day, you know?

Stop your bragging. we could be where you are right now, but I've sold out to my corporate overlord masters. And here in NYC, it was pushing 90 degrees 2-3 weeks ago.

summer has not only begun, it is well under way and I'm already starting to feel like its half-over.

Waaaaa, waaaaa, waaaaa. A couple of weeks ago it was in the high 80's to low 90's here too. It was freaking hot as I had sweat dripping off my balls at work. The snowpack took a serious hit and the rivers are swolen to max capacity. It felt like summer but it wasn't summer yet. I was just happy it cooled off a little and snowed a little up in the mountains on June 14th. I was also happy when it snowed a little on September 3rd last Summer.

Yeah, just for fun I will most likely bring up the fact that winter hasn't started yet when you all are yammering on about how great it is that its winter in early December.

well like I said, I'm sold out to corporate whore-masters in a place with a nice long summer. Sometimes, I envy guys like you in places with short summers, but only when guys like you are not assholes like you.

Well, it sounds to me like the corporate whore is a tad bitter. Maybe, you should leave your masters and move to the mountains? Then you could be an asshole just like me.

Its still not summer yet and I actually made more turns today at Targheee. PPPPTTTtttHhhhhhhT! Yeah I had to hike. Figure 8's on fresh tracked corn did not suck though. Found a ski and a pair of goggles. Not a ski worth keeping but I kept the goggles. Hahaaaa...summer starts in about 4 days.

Right now, I can say that for at least the next five minutes...summer is not so terrible. I had a good day working hard outside and enjoying the sunshine and life is good. The air smells good, my garden is growing, and I have a slight tan.

That said...I still went into the storage closet and fondled my new ski poles for a bit once the sun when down. And I thought about skiing many, many times today while I was gardening (and dreamed about it last night)...

I "skied" today in 80 degree heat, I am going to go that in Pittsburgh right now is pretty much summer.

What really irks me is the dumb fucking old people in the burgh come in to our shop and rave about the sweaty weather. Little do they know that Heat kill more of them than cold every year.
