forgot my camera-- but a quick cali kite trip report anyhow

Did a little week-long kitesurfari starting 6/4 after buying a van in LA and driving back home to OR. I've never kited in cali other than a few times at crissy field on the bay and it did not disappoint.
    A few quick highlights:
Oceano beach: Near pismo, super friendly big beach, warm water, lil waves, steady wind, drive the car right on the beach and rig up. Kinda light wind the day I was there, but fun.
Waddell creek: saw some of your caution boys alka, but they told me you were in school or something, I think it was wednesday. Fun to watch those guys, they rip of course. After hearing about waddell for years I was stoked to be there and it did not disappoint. What a picturesque spot, just stunningly beautiful. The sets were clean, I'd say mostly 4-5 feet with a few bigger waves thrown in and the wind was a lovely 30-35. Rigged up my new 9M and had a frickin blast for a few hours, nothing like clean CA surf after a few weeks on the junky TX gulf coast. Definitely worth the drive from marin (where I was staying) for the day. I WILL be camping around there next June!
Stinson beach: Was surprisingly good. Spent 2 days there way powered on my 15, most guys on 12M, with small clean waves. Super fun, close to where I was staying, I will be back for sure, but whitey was definitely on my mind!
Crissy: Not the best kiting, gusty and choppy, but got to be one of the most aestetically pleasing spots in the world with the bridge, the skyline, the hills, and alcatraz. Not to mention the never-ending train of the hottest women in SF jogging and dog walking along the beach--that alone made me consider packing up and moving! Hung out around the north tower of the GG, found some nice swell and had a few sweet sunset sessions with the sun going sown behind the bridge and glinting off the skyline. Just happy to be out there then.

So yeah cali's got it going on! I'll be in the gorge and OR coast working on the skills for the next few months, but I'll be back there in august. Can't wait.

2003 e250 with 5.4 v8 4x4 and pop top, 30K miles. Real basic right now, no power anything, empty cargo van. Stoked to pimp it out as funds allow. Glad I have the suby for everyday, this thing eats gas.
