My son started when he was not quite three and my daughter was four. Now, at eight and ten they both rip. It works out well because while my daughter is good, she's very cautious and is content to hang on blue groomers with her mom. My son wants to go everywhere at high speed, so he sticks with me. We all take a couple runs together in the morning, then my son and I split off. Later in the day we all hook back up, it could hardly be better.

The first time you decide to ski a short stretch at your normal pace, then turn around and see your kid right behind you, keeping up - that's a great day!

I wouldn't be as nuts about skiing as I am if pops hadn't gotten me out on the hill at age 3 and made it a regular thing during the winter months.

Betcha if he was still around, he'd be hitting up Alta whenever possible.

It's all about good times, not the skiing.

My wife delivered twins in September and so far I have skied roughly the same amount of days as I did last year. Absolutely cannot wait until they are able to go. The key is to get all of your shit done well in advance, things like laundry, cleaning the house, stocking up on supplies so you don't have to make an emergency 2:00 am run fo some baby wipes, you ge the idea.

If I can manage to ski at least once a week with two four month olds, you can do it with one.

Lessons work! And they give you some time to ski by yourself during the learning process. Other than that its pretty much all been said so I'll get on to my pix....
