Own scarpa tele boot and alpine boots?

I'm thinking of setting up a budget alpine setup for next year (I've never locked my heels down before after 6 years of tele..) and wanted to dig around for some boots this summer. I wear a Scarpa T-1 and like the fit of the scarpa boots, what are some good alpine boot brands I should look at?

How does the scarpa sizing compare to alpine sizing - I wear a mondo 28.5 size T-1. Note, I know the best boot is the one that fits the best, but if I can get some super cheep/free used alpine boots that might work online, I'll probably go for it, as I'm really don't want to put that much money into it, as they'll probably get used a few times a year.

    Lange. Similar narrow fit.

I have a pair of L10 worldcups you can have for free +shipping. They are a 27.5 (9.5 street shoe) they are meant to be worn pretty freaking small.

That describes my feet pretty well. I would recommend putting a custom footbed in it.

    I don't understand "skinny wide".

I can say if you have a Scarpa style foot, you will prolly like Tecnicas or Rossis.

I think he means low volume (up down) but still wide... But just a guess.
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

Ahhh, it all becomes clear. Tecnica rec still stands depending on which boot. And get some footbeds.

That's what I mean - Thanks! I'm flat footed, so my feet spread out pretty wide but not much volume for the size.
I run insoles in my tele boots, mountineering boots, running shoes, etc.

I'm pretty happy (like all day tours no problem) in my T-1s, and I am so-so happy in my Solly boots... They had to be punched out at the ball a fair bit. Out of the box they were the best fit I tried of several brands. Langes were not an option for me. Both sets of boots thermoformed, btw.

    FWIW...
    I wear 29.0 T1's, 28.5 T-Races, 27.5 Technica Icons and Krypton Pro's...

I grew up in Scarpa's and my foot fits them like a glove.

There was a guy at Aly on monday skiing in tele boots with alpine binders. I didn't believe it at first but his Solly 900 carbons accomodated the duckbill. He was killing it maybe you could too. Scarpa boots btw.

Just because they hold you in doesn't mean they'll let you out. Scary.

my ski buddy tom made his own tele setup way back in the day ,had some rental alpine boots that all sizes had the THE SAME din plate so you never had to adjust binding size just release tension

his size put the din plate starting under the toe ,so he used a barn door hinge and for release a stick of pet-tex in hinge pin

still has em hanging on the barn wall

    Hey, me too!

I'm looking at the scarpa hurricane, its 100+ flex, four-buckle and I think it will rip. Definately scarpa fit.
I think they're coming out w/ a walk version next year, so they might get cheaper.

I did see one of our patrols on bumblebees in AT binders once. Thought it was cool but bit iffy.
