    I need graphic arts help

I'm trying to find a good image to use in a presentation. I suck at graphics stuff, but we do have access to Illustrator and some other programs. I was hoping a maggot could help me figure out how to accomplish what I need, or just point me to, or send me something along the lines of what i need that I could then modify.

I'm trying to convey the message of multiple, overlapping services/products surrounding a core concept. I've been using the image below, but its pretty crude. If I could create the same thing and allow it to be a little bit interactive (highlight, or expand each petal, make the colors more translucent/prettier, open/close the sections, etc.) that would be great. Or I'm open to another image/concept (maybe a flower w/ petals?).

Can anyone tell me how to do this quickly? Or maybe you have something you've used in a presentation you could send me? Or point me to something online that I can use as a template? TIA for your help.

    Here's what I've been using:

It is intended to be something like this origami box top, except mine isn't very clean looking:

If you want the design to look like the 2nd picture, then you already have a template. You have to start with the outside outline, draw that up and then start thinking about layers. Place the background color in full. Then start with the white ribbon style layers (draw one then copy and paste it and rotate it as needed) for the covering of the background. Finally design the center star. The star could be the hardest part (I do not know if the Adobe package has a star image tool with capabilities of specifying the number of points, etc.) If it does not then maybe easier to stay with your circle idea in the rough draft at the top picture.

Once you have the design, place the text over the various white ribbons. Make sure it is big enough to read.

I'm afraid the technology to build what you're asking for just doesn't exist yet.

If you want something transluscent just draw the shapes in photoshop and place each shape on a separate layer and drop the opacity a little until it looks nice.

Thanks guys. I don't really need the star in the middle. It can just be an octogon or something thereabouts. I'll see what I can do in Photoshop or Illustrator.
