...are there any shops in our area that demo Seth Pistols?

I'm FINALLY going to get to go check out Mt Baker, and I've wanted to demo a set for a long time. So anything in the Seattle or Bellingham area is kosher (attn to that part BakerBoy and MBS...)

tried sturtevants, they usually have a good demo selection, but no gold.

And in addition to not being on the way to Baker, they don't have Pistols. I was just there. The shop is Greenwater Skis in the booming metropolis of Greenwater, WA. www.greenwaterskis.com

When I was last at Baker, the shop right at the base had a great selection of fat skis. Don't know if they had Pistols though....

I know, I know, not much useful info here. Good luck.

Call the rental shop at baker. They have a great selection of rentals, and maybe a pair of pistols.

They may not have Pistols, but I have to give them a shout out. It's a great place to get your skis tuned. Louie, the guy that owns the place, works magic. He makes them look and feel literally like new. They don't have a great demo selection... but it isn't awful either.

I don't know whether Pilchuck has pistols to demo, but they do have both the 2003 and 2004 models on the floor now.

Glacier Ski Shop has lots of fatties, but they don't like K2 and don't carry them. Good shop.
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!

no pistols anywhere that i know of up here in b'ham (or at or near baker). the rental shop at baker does have some suger daddies, pocket rockets, xxx's. gotamas, 180cm exploders, inspireds, a bunch of carving/race skis, and some random twintips. Fairhaven bike and ski in town has a pair of spatulas, some lines, and some salomons. If you are planning on skiing baker this weekend however, fatties are definately not the ski of choice, and especially pistols at that. Today was hardpack with NO offpiste, and it is pretty much supposed to rain tomorrow. On a different note, I am no longer calling the lack of powder a reason to stay home, since today i scored a pair of 180cm Fisher sc race skis and went carving. 115-64-92 i think. Tip 'em on edge, pressure the big toe, and hang on

Well I won't be up there until the 6th of Feb, so there's hope for the weather to change.

I've been stoked on the Pistol since it came out, and I'm saving up to buy it (and a pass) right now. Re-adjusting the budget and whatnot - I screwed up, and I am so broke I can't ski. With a busted tranciever too, no BC for me either. Plus a fucked up work schedule so it seems that all I do is work. When those days do come along that I can go...yeah.
Anyway, I'd like to demo these guys, as I've heard they have a wierd flex pattern that's just different than anything out there. I've got a set of Iggy FFLs and K2 Morrisons, and I want to try something that combines the two - so I don't have to lug two pairs of skis with me every time I go somewhere, have a "when in doubt" ski that'll be fun irregardless. The Gotama and Scratch BCs are other considerations I guess, I just want to demo something different than what I've got now.

I don't see how the pistol is a combo of the iggie and the morrisons, since they are softer then the morrisons If maybe you mean you want the width of the iggie and the flex of the morrison, then you might want to keep your options open, since the pistol doesn't achieve that.

Well like I said, I heard the flex is different. It is soft, but the newer ones have a stiff tail for more pop - never ridden anything like that. Anyway yeah the Iggs are 190, not much cut to them, and stiff as a 2x4, and the Morrisons are the 204s...yeah, bumps and anything but straight, fast, big turns are just misery. A softer, more playful board would be appreciated for its versatility. And for big, badass days, I still have the Iggies.

I guess the Scratch BCs would work too, as would the Volkl Gotama - whichever one has the 2nd tip. I want fat twins this time.

Do the scratch BCs have any of the durability issues the Bandits are known for? Do they lose snap?

anyway I'd like something with the big bow of the Iggs, the sharp cut of the Morrisons, and perhaps a bit softer in flex - I'd like to be able to cut through bumps and trees with ease.

Damn damn double damn - seems I've combed and called every notable shop in the Seattle/TacoTown area (Sturtevant's, Fiorini Sports, Pro Ski Service, Mt Pilchuck), and even some in the Ham (Sportsman's Chalet), and nobody's got 'em to demo. Bummer dude.

if anybody else has any ideas/suggestions/sightings, let me know, I'm all ears. I've put in a message over @ the K2 site, but surprise surprise, Gutt nor anybody else have yet to answer.

    thanks for the input, fellas.

Scratch BC's will noodle real quickly.

Have you tried Alpine Hut or Olympic Sports yet?
Also, don't know if he carries K2, but this guy in Federal Way runs a squirlly shop called Moxie's. If he carries k2, he'll probably have the Pistols for demo.
