BTW- Clinton being "offered" OBL by Sudan is purely apocryphal. The idea that OBL's ideological partner in assholeness would just give him to the US should strain the anyone's credulity but apparently, doesn't.

So Kerry was a big enough asshole that it's okay to call him an asshole?Originally Posted by TJ.Brk

I've said it a million times, so I'll say it for you once more.Originally Posted by PNWbrit

That's state sponsored terrorism my friend. In a post 9-11 era, Saddam was in a position to get knocked down. Weapons or not, his behavior showed that if he had them, he would.
Your question: Did invading Iraq make anyone safer? You'll have to ask a Kurd, Kuwaiti or Israeli for that answer.
Kerry never he said that he witnessed children being raped. He was relating the stories that were told to him by other veterans.
Edit: Holy shit! when did I get over a thousand posts???? I need to get back to work.

A disabled vet does not have to agree or disagree with the war he was wounded in to feel he is entitled to protection from the law. This guy happens to support the war, thus your opinion of him.
Personally, I assume he might support the war because he left two arms over there, maybe he will feel different in 10yrs. Who knows?
Without knowing the legal specifications of any release he might have signed, I say he is entitled to be heard first. If their is no legal foundation for his claim it wil be dismissed. But until then, I can understand that no one, especially a disabled vet, would want to be portrayed like that in a piece of propoganda.

I never called him an asshole. Have you read it in any of my posts. I'm just telling you what Veterans feel about him.Originally Posted by lemon boy

Maybe you should go back and look at the footage. He said:"I witnessed" before each point in his testimonyOriginally Posted by MassLiberal
And for that the swifboat vets for 'truth' [sic] will never forgive him.
Summit, you don't get it. When people claim the facts aren't true and present untrue 'facts' to prove otherwise, that needs to be addressed. I don't happen to have much of an issue with what Moore does with the facts as some do, but that he is almost entirely right on the facts is not in doubt.

My previous post was meant to be below massliberal's, not TJ's, which is once again wrong.

You can thank Clinton for the TSA guy at the airport fondling your ballsack over and over.
Some of Kerry's testimony, representative of what he said:
I would like to talk, representing all those veterans, and say that several months ago in Detroit, we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged and many very highly decorated veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command....
They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.
Please stop posting in these threads TJ, what you believe to be true very rarely is.

Since you've shown yourself only capable of comprehending bumpersticker apropriate provincialisms, why would I bother to respond in anything but kind? I'd love to here more of your commentary on the ills of British imperialism, it's an amusing entre into the mindset, or absence of a mind, of some contemporary conservatives.Originally Posted by Joey Joe Joe Junior Shabadoo

I mentioned consent, not legal right. You don't own the rights to footage or images other people take of you. Someone takes your picture, they own the picture. Not you.Originally Posted by Cono Este

TJ- Hey man, don't get mad at me because you're not being consistent. You didn't have a problem with disparaging Kerry during the campaign and didn't tell everyone that the swifties should be ashamed but now somebody calls this guy an asshole and you get all bent out of shape. The argument that nobody should criticise a vetran or refer to them disparagingly is one that you yourself don't even stick to, why should you expect anyone else to?Originally Posted by TJ.Brk

And blaming Clinton for OBL and 9/11 is also totally specious. As is blaming the shrub, shrub sr and ronny ray gun.

TJ wants me to put up several hours of Kerry testimony? Maybe when I have more time I'll try to read more of the transcript, but from what I've glanced through he clearly was speaking as a representative of other vets and didn't claim their experiences as his own.

There is a difference between the two and you would have to have served and be a Veteran to understand this. I in no way mean you or anybody else is less of a person or American because they didn't serve. I'm just telling you how he made many Veterans feel. Kerry broke the code. That is why most Veterans feel betrayed by him. Including me. I did like some of his ideas. But he turned his back on us once, what would stop him from doing it again.Originally Posted by lemon boy
Now this Sgt that lost his arms. Imagine how you would feel if you just lost a good portion of your body. Yet you are very proud of your service. Then you see your image on the screen making you look very bad to our piers. This Sgt in the movie was made to look very Kerryesc. This Sgt now has to rely upon Veterans services to get alot of things done for him. And this guy is remembered as "Micheal Moores Movie buddy". It adds difficulty for him unfortunately because he is remembered as such by the public from the millions that saw the film.
