    collar bone surgery

    I broke it again

    Story:
So I broke my right clavicle in february in a longboard crash, I re-injured it skiing a couple weeks later, then again at the kirkwood comp. Although it was still set to heal. (I realize I would have been better off giving it time to heal properly, but thats just how I am) So now, a couple months later, it has been feeling awesome, no pain anymore, I have been climbing hard on it and basically figured it was healed. I spent the weekend in Moab and monday was biking slickrock and took a pretty nasty crash- directly to my shoulder to tumbling- and knew immediately it was gone again, rode out and took some painkillers. I go to the doctor this morning and take x-rays, find out I totally busted through all the callus that had formed and now I get to have surgery. Doc says a nail through the thing should do the trick but may put a plate in there if that dosen't look like it's going to work. So the date is June 13th.

sad... I was just starting to get into climbing and having soooo much fun, I was so psyched about climbing and biking this summer, plus planning on a Las Lenas trip with the ripperchicks.

So to my point, anyone with experience with this surgery? I would like a better perspective on recovery times, advice, etc... or maybe just some ++ vibes.

If you know your history, then you would know where you coming from, then you wouldn't have to ask me, who the heck do I think I am.

Well, finelines, you didn't take our advice before to lay off of it and let it heal before you got all gnar with it.... so I think any advice we give you will be moot

Good luck with your surgery... ++++ vibes for sure.

and BTW, I probably would have done the same thing as you. I had surgery on my thumb a few years ago and during the entire surgery I was arguing with the doctor about when I could ride again. He said 3 months, I said 1 month... We compromised on 2 months, but I still rode after one month anyway
