    Tour de France 2006 Predictions

Carried over from the other Basso Giro Thread.
    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=54062

Thought we could start a thread about the TDF.
Note, as always I'd like to see a separate Stage thread too, for each stage.

    Now then, have at it.

My prediction: Lance enters the TDF last minute, and wins. Any takers?

I predict a pileup in one or more of the early stages.

yea right, that will never happen.

I predict Lemond and Indurain to battle it out after Merckx drops out due to poor conditioning.

I predict that some unknowing maggot will post a spoiler for a critical stage that some of us haven't watched yet. Not that that would keep me from watching it anyway, but it does take away the suspense.

Kirk Obee. He got third place in a stage at the Peace Race.

Basso wears Yellow in the end, the fight for 2nd and 3rd on the podium is wide open right now, with probably 5-10 guys that could end up there...Landis, Jan, Levi, Big George, Cunego, Vinny, Poppy, Simoni....

I am less convinced about Basso after the Giro - I think he blew his wad. You just can't win two big stage races in one year anymore (watch me get proved wrong) - I think its Jan or Vino (if he can find a team)...
