Cell phone coverage at Sierra

I need to change my cell phone carrier. Nextel just blows around Sac... but it's okay at Sierra-at-Tahoe, which seems to be the only reason I kept it through the season. Any Sierra regulars out there have cell carrier recommendation that works well up there?

I have Cingular because it is the only one that works at my house. I went to Sierra a few times this year and the phone worked there. BTW - It also works a parts of Heavenly, the front side of Kirkwood, and most of Mammoth.

Cingular is decent. I have it. No major complaints. Works near Squaw, Emerald Bay, around the lake, Quincy, Portola, sometimes Ely, Carson City/Minden, etc.

T Mobile is what my son has and often he gets reception (or some reception) where I have none (like the Mt Rose base).

Cingular works on most of 50 from south lake to sac.

Verizon works ok, definitely are dead spots, but I really hear that from everyone. Cingular does seem to be the consensus, I hear Sprint has gotten a lot better the last couple years.

Jeez... y'all are missing the point... WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT THE CELL PHONE COVERAGE IS LIKE AT SIERRA?!?!? Cell phone coverage at Alpine or Squaw, well, that's a different story...

BTW, the coverage at South Lake is spotty at best with Verizon. That's all I can add to this thread.

works sometimes at sports ltd, occasionally at the "Y", intermittently in the 3rd stall in the men's room of Mott's tavern, pretty well at the house where the guy grows weed on C street, not at in the drive through at taco bell, and fine on alternate wednesdays in august at the adidas outlet.
