    INDY Pass 5/29

I woke this morning to some cold temps. At my house on the river it was 38. I was going to go hiking with the dog but turned around and went up the pass to make some turns.
I am heading to AK on friday for kings and corn and have been putting in about 250 miles a week on my road bike riding back and forth to work. I called my buddy J love and we rallied arriving at around 11. Nothing special, but the tow inches of wet snow on the north west face made for some super fun turns. Plus I was there with my pup, about day 20 days on snow for him this year. This guy keeps me sane these days. God I love him!

Checking to make sure J Love has all his gear

Chasing Johny to 4th july bowl

    Contemplating his next move

    Mission accomplished

I love living up here, no plans, just a fleating thought to get some turns and an hour later there we were.

    Oh, i love my couch

Nice M! We were up around those parts this morning as well. Surprised we didn't see you on top. We ended up hitting a shot on the east side. Not bad for late May.

Maybe it was Johnny's doggy footprints that I saw in the snow when we were skinning Happy doggy!

Nice shots, we were up on Geissler yesterday and the new snow made it seem like winter almost. Grizzly is looking sweet, now all we need is Lincoln Creek to open.

M - How's the snow on Indy ? - Just finished up @ the Bird and thinking of a Indy pass trip in the next couple of weeks. You think it's worth the trip?

iskibc and mbsc, were you part of the group that skied Cosmic yesterday morning?

I was maybe 30 minutes behind that group and by the time I got there the snow was a little too soft for comfort. Nice little line though.

Geissler was pretty sweet on Sunday.

Indy pass is nice and most stuff will stay in for the next couple weeks at least. The problem is the dust layer is coming to the surface and that is going to really speed up the melting. We got a few inches of new snow Sunday night that should help but probably not a ton. I am hoping to get back up there next Monday(no more work on Mondays for me ) and can post any info.

its good, but not worth the trip over. Grizzly would be nice, up lincon creek. You need a motorcycle to get to it right now, or you could do the traverse from the top of the pass

Yeah, that was us. It was fun. The new snow made for some smooth-buttery turns. Did we see you guys down at the hairpin turn pickup?

I don't think you saw me down at the pickup. I was a bit behind you, watched you ski something on Mountain Boy Hill while I was booting up Cosmic. May have seen you up in the parking lot on top of the pass.

SDP, I saw you guys and gave that doggie a nice pat on the head on top of 4th of July bowl. We skied the skier's right side right down the gut, nobody hit it before us. Sweet.

My binding cartridge exploded on my 2nd turn....5 mins later I was skiing again thanks to all of the spare parts I carry. Ah, the joys of telemarking!

Indy pass rules, but we could have had better luck hitchin' in the morning, nobody comes up from the Leadville side. One asshole did the "pull off onto the dirt like you're going to give a ride, then gun it to spray gravel on the skiers" trick.
