    Anyone own/drive a Subie Tribeca?

Wifey has a line on one...CHEAP, with full warranty, etc.AS in >6k miles, leather, tow package, navig, DVD, LOADED. for $29,000. 4.0% financing, and all. She really wants this car, but hasn't pulled the trigger...she may today. Any real opinions?

    Thumbs up PULL IT!

Mom and Dad rented one a month ago to come up here and at first the dash seemed a bit large, but once you put it on the road it is NICE!!!!

I have a 01 Outback 3.0 V6 and it has very similar power. Tribeca has 3 rows of seats, power outlets everywhere, nice roof, they ride great.

And now my wife wants to ditch the Jeep Liberty and go for one of these.

Price is GREAT for those options, if I were you, jump on it.

    Plus, it is a Subaru!

we have one, although i have hardly driven it. she loves it. very comfortable, decent power, sort of a luxury car/suv mix.

It replaced an Audi Allroad and my girlfriend swears that this car is better in the snow, FWIW.

When I was looking at used soobies, I posted a few questions here and got answers in less than an hour. Good luck!!

Don't have a Tribeca but just got a new Outback, our second one. You can't go wrong with any of the new soobies. They drive great, get decent gas mileage and have more than enough power to get yourself into trouble. Oh, they're great in the snow too (but you already knew that).

I had one as a rental car in Jackson for a week. Overall I was impressed. Great in the snow, ok power and pretty comfy. If you have a good deal on one I would say pull the trigger. I have owned Subbies most of my life and have not had any major issues yet.

I'm sure is quality as it's a Subaru, but my gripe is that it's just kinda ugly. I think they introduced it to compete more directly with the RX330 and the Murano for that mid-size SUV stinkbug space shuttle look. The grill is hideous.

Of course this is purely from an aesthetic standpoint. I'm a much bigger fan of the Outback styling.

the local dealer gave me one to drive for a week while my legacy sw was in the shop.

it drove me nuts in the mountains. i found it really underpowered and as a result it was constantly shifting gears

Thank god somebody said it. Personally, I think it's hideous. Same goes for the new Imprezas, they completely ruined a nice looking front end.

    yup, ugly ugly ugly.

At the same time, the new Outbacks finally look kinda cool, especially in black. Hopefully they'll beat off that lesbian thing with a stick. I like Subarus.

is the proud owner of one of the FUGLIEST vehicles made to date next to such wonderful creations such as the AZTEK. That and it looks like it will tip over pretty easily.

Suggestions, that carry the same 'luxury' elements as this vehicle? As well as the same handling in snow? Serious Q...and we are talking out the door 30k, brand new, and loaded.

If by loaded you mean including the dvd and navigation, then yes, it is a very good deal. Otherwise, not that great of a deal.

We got 24 highway with 4 adults and one 16 month old at 55-60.

Not the most powerful, but with all them options, good deal.

They may be a bit ugly, but you can't see that sitting inside.

That's exactly why your wife should get one. Raises the chances for you of a threesome w/ Rosie O'Donnell.

4% from a real lender (credit union or bank) is a fucking outstanding rate. According to bankrate .com the overnight average on a 48 month loan was 6.83%.

Now if your borrowing at the point of sale and using dealer financing and they are subventing (subsidizing the rate out of the purchase price) 4% may not be so wonderful.

Below market financing is just another way to entice the consumer. If everything else is the right price: vehicle, options, trade and they still offer a below market rate then you should jump on it. But if the loan rate is below market check out a straight up cash purchase price at another dealer to see if dealer number one isn't just adding the cost of the low rate on the loan to the price of the car. (Think points on mortgage.)

BTW -- don't know much about the car but I think Tribeca has to be one of the stupidest names I've ever seen on a vehicle (cept for hummer maybe).
Damn, we're in a tight spot!
