    wwmd:moral dilemma (sort of)

Actually, it's more of a money dilemma, or maybe both.

I have the chance to get my hands on a pair of black diamond lyric skis for around $290. I can't find them near that price anywhere else, and there's one pair left.

Problem is, I just bought a pair of teledaddys and titanal II's a couple months ago for my powder ski... but I just can't get off of them. They're fatter and stiffer than any of my previous skis, and longer than my 158 Little Big Fats. I love them and have realised that I need something longer and stiffer than my LBF's for my all-mountain ski. So I've been doing a bit of looking and the Lyrics seem to fit the bill. (Weight is also important as a good portion of my skiing is in the bc). Unless they're way softer than the Havoc- but I haven't heard that they are, and GFP loves the stiffness of the Havoc, so I'm sure the Lyric would do me quite well.

Problem is, I don't really need them- I could get another season out of my LBFs even though I've decided they're too short and soft, I could deal with it for money's sake- I have to make a $2000 car repair payment in a couple of days here (and because I'd feel like a gear whore if I bought two pairs of skis within a couple of months). But I don't know if I'd find that good of a price ever again. aaaaaaaaaacccckkk!! Bastard. If only I could win the lottery or something.

This is horrible; I'm a ski glutton. What am I thinking?!

Do you want them? Can you afford them? If the answer is yes to both, pull the trigger already.

I say wait. They aren't going to do any good sitting in your closet all summer and the chances that you can pick them up next year for 3 bills is good. Plus, you may change your mind by then. Bottom line is that they really aren't going to do anything for you now, so put that money somewhere else.

    "Hi Snowfire"

Buy them, if you change your mind you can sell 'em in the fall for what/more than you paid.

You are a filthy weak minded pile of redundant protoplasm. How DARE you consider things like rent, bills, and vehicle repairs more important than ski buying?

    BUY THEM NOW.

Do you hear them calling your name???? If so buy them. They already belong to you! Besides, you're asking a bunch of gear-head ski geeks this question for a reason, yeah?

If you're concerned about money, sell your car. It seems like maybe you're better off w/o it anyway considering the trouble you have with it!
