Are you talking Mt. Rose ski area? (The Chutes) or The real Mt. Rose?

Cuz I would like to do hike/ Car relay out of the East bowl lot for the Chutes.

I vote for hourglass. I've never done it.
I've done the Chutes a zillion times this year.

I will go for either, (or both) I would like to find someone to car relay the Chutes. Even without the fresh snow its probably the best sking you going to get for a 20 min hike.

whats the avy danger gonna be like with 6" to a foot of fresh ontop of hardend spring snow 50Deg+ pitch?

I'm thinking not to to bad if we ski it right (FAST)

BTW whats 8AM stuff? thought you said early

yeah, if i lived on the n shore i'd prolly be hitting rose as well, but i don't, so i'm not. gonna make the call early am, but to all you s shore homies, we'll most likely be at kwood by 6:30-7 if it's a go. if i had the time, the east side/mammoth is where it'll really be at. the dweeb is saying up to 1-2' above 9,000'.

and yeah, its may, get it early or it'll be elmers glue.

So we have hijacked gimpy's South Shore thread.

For North Shore (Rose area it looks like its going to start snowing tonight and will be snowing tomorrow. Needless to say I don't want to be up on Mt. Rose in a storm to ski a few inches fresh on frozen.

I am planning to tour that area anytime over the next few days that look good.

Lets look at what the storm brings and let me know what you want to do.
    I am flexable.

I've got to be home by 8 to get to work on time so I have to go really early and to maximize my vert I've got hit the resort - I'm going to try to show up for 5:30 so I can get 3 laps in - I would never expect you lazy bastards to get up that early so I'll just lap the slide side and you guys show up whenever and we'll hit the chutes.....then go nail the hourglass after I go to work....just a thought

is it supposed to stay cold tomorrow?? I'd go back for more after work too if it doesn't warm up too much....

Corky check back here before you head out the door, if things look good 5:30 6AM is not un-possible for me.
I am really kinda pissed about the cold front and snow! I was looking forward to sking Chuter corn snow, it was getting very nice up there!

PS: I kike the idea of showing up in the east bowl with tracks already cut

Just got back from Mammoth. It was raining all the way up when we got to the main lodge in the am. So we said screw it and just hung our around town and in Bishop all day. When we left around 4 cars were coming down from the mountain with a couple of inches of snow on them. Snow level should be dropping even further tonight. Should be sick up there the next day or two.
