    Utah maggots: pass question

I'm thinking about getting an Alta or Snobird pass. I wanted to get a college pass, but I'm technically out of school right now.

    1. How strict are Alta or Snowbird about checking college transcripts, calling the school, etc?

    2. Are there any community colleges in SLC that I could sign up for and then withdraw from w/o paying tuition???

Any help would be appreciated (or job openings at said resorts, which I'm also trying to do...)

They make you show a class record or shedule when you go to get the pass, so yah, pretty strict.

so, sign up for 12(or have someone else do it for ya ) and then show them your transcript and drop the classes.

let me clarify, not edit. The university checks throughout the semester to see if you still have 12 hours, my good friend got his passed pulled cause he dropped all but one class.

Yeah, I mean, I'm all for a good deal, but there's a reason they've got to stay tight on that kind of stuff...

And AH, your question about media passes; my companys ethics policy is clear and prohibits free skiing, unless you are actively working on a story.

I'm not sure about your situation, but if you are working on a project/article, most of the resorts media people will work with you.

If you're skiing on your own time, expect to buy a ticket like anyone else on the mountain - it's not cool to ask for a free ticket just to go ski, like on vacation or something like that...

I know snowbasin is pretty strict... I had to bring my transcript for my last semester and my schedule for the next one, and I know they are wise to the register/drop classes thing because last year the lady mentioned that they have had problems with that and were trying to combat it by requiring proof of payment for some people... don't know if they actually did it or not, but they aren't stupid. I'd assume Alta/Snowbird have even more problems with this stuff.

I got $250 credit on a bird ten pass from 97, when I called they said this would be the last year they'd honor that credit, Problem is the pass needs to be paid up to the current tenpass rate, which is about another $200- if I make it down for the mini I'd re-up it if I knew I could sell the balance of it off for whatever- 45/day?- it has a picture but I look pretty plain... I hate to see good credit go to waste
