It's a Kenwood KDC-X715. It's from a couple of years ago but this was one of their higher end eXcelon head units.
Kind of a long story but here it goes : I orignally bought this for my GF. It worked in her car for about 2 years and then the face stopped lighting up and eventually the controls stopped working, the only way to use it was with the remote. She sold the car, it sat in a box for a while. I bought a truck. I figured I would try and save a little money, instead of buying a new head unit I would have kenwood fix this one. I sent it into them, they found several mechanical and electrical problems with it, they charged me a bunch of money and sent it back to me. When I got it back I plugged it in, I heard a motor inside spin up but I was unable to get the unit to turn on. I sent it back again to kenwood, they found no problems, they said everything was working fine and sent it back to me. Again I got it back and the same thing, plug it in, motor inside spins up but unit will not turn on and face will not open up. This time I'm getting angry. I get a manager their who says send it back again, he will personally look at it. He finds that one of the power wires in the harness that plugs into the back of the unit is broken. He says they are going to order me a new harness and send it back to me. For some reason this didn't happen and I got the unit back with the old harness. I go to plug it in again and same exact results. At this point I'm pissed and just want a refund. He gives me a refund and tells me to do whatever I want with the unit.
I decided to get a new alpine because it will let me easily integrate my iPod into it.
I'm asking $50 for this. According to kenwood it's in perfect working shape, all you need is a new wiring harness. I'm almost positive that you can get that from them for $15 or less.
