    Arc'teryx Sidewinder jacket question

When I'm skiing, especially in spring, I frequently leave the front zipper of my shell partially open for ventilation.

How well does that work on the Sidewinder series of jackets? Does the longer side flap around, or can you ski with it open?

The jacket has pit zips that go practically from the elbow to the middle of the waist. Opening the top zipper doesn't feel any different than a center zip jacket except the hood is bulky in the collar. In really warm weather like we are having in the Sierra, I take a Mountain Hardware Epic jacket which is water and wind proof, but very light and packable. My other SAC buy
