They're more NY hardcore, than metal, but they rock pretty damn hard. And they're a bunch of friends I grew up with in high school and they're still at it. They're huge in Europe (hahaha) and they're gonna play a show in my garage when they tour CA! Hide the kids neighbors!!

You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness, and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer.

Well... depends on what you want.

Halford is the best singer, Hands Down.

    Slayer is simply awesome.

    Older Iron Maiden kicks ass....

Of the newer bands, there's a progressive one I like, Dream Theater. The stuff they play is INSANE.

Have seen them several times. Best was with Queensryche a few summers ago. For the finale both bands got up together (2 drum kits, 2 singers, etc.) and covered "Don't get fooled again." So fucking metal.

I'll second Lamb of God and Everytime I Die are both solid
but both toward the Hardcore end of the spectrum
If thats a go, check out Bury Your Dead and The Black Dehliah Murder.

I can choose only ONE band? Impossible.
