another poll in its place - how do you take your coffee?

    Black/No sugar here.
I noticed that in the northeast, almost everyone puts something in their sludge.. in CA, there were a lot more black coffee drinkers. So if you're willing to make it more interesting, post what region you're in..

Anyway, as I said in the shaving poll, when someone mentioned they use no shavnig cream:

"Me too, except I used to use the shaving gel/cream.
I stopped using it because I am lazy.. I realized that I could skip the step and still get the job done with good results.

(by the way, that is also why I drink my coffee black/no sugar. it took about a week to get used to it.. but for 10 years now, I've been blessed with the ability to pour a cup in 4 seconds flat.)"

I'm from Yurp and often drink black coffee. But I'm certainly no stranger to sugar, milk or sugar+milk combo's.

After guiding canoe trips for a long time I no longer take coffee black (to many summers of cowboy coffee really highlights the benefits of milk and sugar)

Milk (none of that skim crap though) and a dusting of sugar. Nobody puts honey in coffee, do they?

If you have to add cream and/or sugar to your coffee you really don't like coffee. It's tantamount to adding sugar to beer.

Son of a... I was going to write "black, like my men," but then I noticed Boomer had already stollen my thunder. Then I notice that we're using the same mofo avatar. Could it be we were sperated at birth?

Back on topic, I actually take coffee with just a little cream... grind my own beans every morning--the secret to great coffee... my favorite indulgence (other than huffing, overweight exotic dancers and regicide).

While I find sugar in my coffee revolting, the fats in half and half soften the acids in the coffee and allow the flavors to come out.

When I was an exchange student in Costa Rica, my host family made that great coffee in that sock contraption- best coffee ever- especially dark and then topped with a light cream. I can remember it to this day.

On the contrary, I stopped to pick up another student along the way and his host family BOILED sugar into the water before they made coffee. Ninth grade Physical science shows us that the amount of sugar water can hold grows exponentially when heated. This lady put about a cup of sugar into into each pot of coffee. While being polite,I was forced to drink it one day- with a giant hang over- held my cookies until we left than went and puked all over the street.

Any amount of sugar makes me vividly remember that morning- and heaving all overthe street on the way to the U. Just the sight of sugar in someone's coffee makes me queasy.

Turkish coffee is similar in that they boil sugar in with it. Whenever I asked for it without sugar I was immediately subjected to looks of disgust.

Now, Turkish prisons...well, we'll just save that for another poll, eh?

I drink coffee all day--and mix it up quite a bit
only firm rule is no milk---If all I have is 2% and no 1/2 and 1/2 then the coffee is black --no sugar

Honey, no. But there's a coffee place in Stowe that makes a maple latte, and it's is pretty tasty. Especially after a day of bushwacking at stowe!

Non-dairy creamer, liquid or (especially) powder form should be outlawed.

    Maple latte sounds good!

Putting honey in coffee is just wrong. It's like why you don't put milk or cream in herb tea. There are just some things in life that go against that laws of nature, and these here qualify.

Besides, lemon herbal tea will curdle the milk (yuk!)

I take it all sorts of ways - and yes, I've even put honey in my coffee Sprite! (Once only, but it wasn't as bad as I'd thought.)

Preference though, a nice medium blend coffee with a tablespoon of some sort of creamer, whether Irish Cream or Hazelnut or French Vanilla. Not enough to make it overly sickenly sweet, but just enough to add a hint of flavor and cut the bitterness.

And occasionally, maybe once a week or once every two weeks, I'll get a latte with a bit of hazelnut syrup. Not the 3 pumps that makes it so sweet I gag, but about 1 pump. Yummy treat.

And the fact that I like creamer / lattes / etc doesn't mean I don't like coffee.....
