pick up the reds, return to base..
pick up the yellows (or yellows who've become red), return to base
pick up the greens (or greens who've turned yellow or red), return to base

I was having problems getting past the first level until I figured out the return to base part.
Level 2 is easier than level 1.
Level 3 is tough.. getting down canyons that are under trees.
