Last saturday was a bluebird, warm, carving festival with great fast snow. So Sunday we figured would be a repeat...we were wrong.
The clouds were threatening our objective that day, so we drove further to try and beat the weather. We timed it perfectly to have a raging hot, sunny hike up, with clouds filling in and the wind coming up as soon as we got to the summit. Then it started snowing and the light really went to hell, so not so many photos.
On the way to a fun couloir a couple of weeks ago (see thread http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=51088) we had spotted a cool feature on another peak, with some fun couloirs on it. So we hit it, in nice flat light.
me testing the waters
some fun turns, but we were hoping for more powder than what we got
couldn't complain about the scenery though
looking back
The hike out of the bowl was a bit sketch and when we got to the top it completely whited-out and was dumping snow. We lost sight of each other about 75 m. Then a great corn run to the car, no photos, sorry about that. But winter isn't over so will hopefully produce some more!
