GT, MOE and I are headed that way in the next week. If anybody has some tix they need to sell let me know. I went almost 2 weeks without skiing (went today) and I got the itch back.![]()

Thanks for the idea, but so far no luck there. Most are multi-day passes, chairs only, or have sold and they haven't pulled their listing (couple of awkward calls).![]()
Excellent!!! These boards have all the answers.
When are you guys coming down? Would be very cool to make some turns with the three of you.![]()

Perhaps you can meet us for the speed trap session at 8:45 this Fri morning?
....and see if that GT fellow would like to come as well.
I doubt I can do Friday and Saturday (work is in full swing).![]()
Sounds awesome though. I've still never done one of those speed tests.
stay up north jackass and hike for turns at your first love, the sickly steep Snowbasin
p.s. you know i'm just bustin' you and MOE and GT's balls; was thinking after skiing up there last Friday and on the eve your ho-down that i hope i get the opportunity to make some turns with you 3 this spring. on the tix issue, best bet is to contact known bird season pass holders that you know won't be skiing on the days you want to ski and mooch their pass.

Good to know. Work and stuff screwed up the other dates for me. PM me the meeting place and I'll do my best to show. Of course, given what's open, it shouldn't be that hard to find you guys.Originally Posted by Endlessseason

X, you went up north? Wow. I noticed yesterday that 3 of the 4 fingers were still skiable, most of demoisy. And youcan still ski right to the base. It's a shame they closed so early. We'll have to get you up that way next season. Hopefully we'll get down to the bird a fair amount this spring.
Z, Will definitely call. I've just got to track down a babysitter, but we're planning on being there.
by "up there" i meant the birdy, bird

Endless and other Utards, you guys around the Bird May 11-14? I should be there, lookin' for change. Is Baldy worth hiking and sking into Alta? Is it possible to get back without walking down the road at the end? Just looking for some beta....Originally Posted by Endlessseason

Baldy is officially "closed" for the season. Have a chat with patrol, they may let ya go.
I'll have the avi gear, have skied similar chutes. Would they stop or chase me? I doubt if Alta would have a cow over it.Originally Posted by powderwhore

The whole peruvian side is closed because they are doing work for the new chair, so no patrol will most likely not let you ski over that way just because construction is going on..they dont give a shit if you have avi gear and know how to ski chutes that isnt the issue. And also chairs only is still a good deal, the tram is pretty much worthless at this point in the season since all the terrain it accsses is closed.
You could always just do it from the Alta parking lot.![]()
ya speed trappin in the AM?
what groomer do you want to use -reg?
at 9am the shit will be frozen and filled with holes/ moguls and ridges, after grooming is done.
Ill go, however
Absolutely. That's awesome you're coming to town. I'd love to make some runs with you again. I'm positive I'll be skiing 2 or 3 of those days.Originally Posted by Mtn Man
To answer your questions...
No. It is a misdemeanor and a fine to try to come back into the bottom of Snowbird from Alta. And...for the next 3 days the only way you can do the other way around (get from the Bird to Alta) is by hiking from MB's Lupine up over the Baldy Express saddle (if it's even open after today's dusting). After Sunday, that access will be closed for the rest of the season. If you really want to do Baldy, your best bet is from GMD parking. It's less than 2k vert from there.
PM me for me cellie.
Can't you still do laps on Wilbere Bowl,Chutes & Mach Schnell?Originally Posted by SkiED

Mtn Man:
If it was nice and I got up early, I would hike up to the chutes above Road to Provo, the Twins, while its still hard every where else.
