    If you look closely at the very leading edge of the avalanche you can see the chunk of snow getting thrown out ahead of the slide.....

    It's tough to see the chunk, but it is leaving a snow/vapor trail behind it as it accelerates away from the avalanche...........look below and to the right of the rock outcropping just below center of the pic............
