    Thumbs up Survivorman

Been meaning to ask if anyone watches this show. This guy (Les Stroud) goes somewhere (usually in the middle of nowhere) and stays for seven days with only a multi-tool, a small amount of food, and sometimes a few other random items. He films everything himself. In the episodes I've seen he's been to a few places in northern Canada, a desert in the south west US, the Costa Rican rainforrest and some other places I can't remeber.

I've been catching it here and there and the show is fuckin awesome. Definately check it out. Its on the Science Channel and/or Discovery.

It's a pretty cool show...generally based around some sort of 'what if' scenario (small plane crash in the winter, sled blows up in the middle of the arctic, motorbike beakdown in the desert etc.) I thought the arctic one was really cool...waking up and noticing polar bear tracks 15 feet from where you had slept would be crazy though.
I went out there in search of experience. To taste, and to touch, and to feel as much as a man can, before he repents.

Watching an episode right now. It is a rerun, but a good one - Baffin Island. I keep waiting for McConkey and his BASE crew to go flying by in a heli.

The one where it took him a week to get off a mountain was kinda lame. If he didn't do all those long-range shots of him trudging along he could probably have gotten down in a day because he wouldn't have to keep climbing back up to go get the camera. In general, pretty good show though.
