How to re-lam a monoski [snowboard]

....So I found this 159 Tricky Glo K2 snowboard @ the wood today, but it has about half [not kidding] of the ptex sheet completely flapping. As long as I can get something semi-decent for cheap, this will become next week's t-bolted monostrosity. The rest of the board is pretty much in perfect shape. I don't know anybody who could try to warranty it for me, so it seems tool time is the only way to go.

    WWMD?

heat the glue so it is watery, clamp with a press (plywood?), ignore for a few days. and good luck

2 ton epoxy or 24hr epoxy, as mntlion said. you will need 2 pieces of wood to clamp the board with. you may just cut the ptex beyond the contact point with the snow, that'll be hard to clamp evenly for sure.

or any hardware store on the face of the earth. don't forget you'll need about 10 or more c-clamps scattered about too for even pressure

    Easy enough. Then it begins....

Yes. The slower drying the better. And to get the shovel and/or tail clamped on a curve you will need one of two things: time or lots of clamps.

Buy a piece of thick plywood - 3/4 or 1 inch should be good.
Cut it into a bunch of strips about 1 inch wide. Make sure the strips are longer than the board is wide.
Shove some epoxy under the flap of p-tex right where the p-tex is still attached.
Clamp a strip of the plywood on each side of the board (one on topsheet, one on p-tex) so that they form the bread of a snowboard sandwich. Alternatively, you can use rubber bands. Just keep winding them around the ends of the strips of wood till their tight.
Now shove some more epoxy down where the strips you just clamped end.
Clamp two more strips of wood on just like before.
Keep doing this until you've got wood strips clamped all the way up to the tip of the board.
    Allow to dry.
Rip the shit outta the mountain.

This won't make the board pretty - the base may have some little ridges in it - but hey, do you really care?

Edit: Forgot to add. For best results, make sure the grain of the strips of plywood runs PERPENDICULAR to the board, otherwise when you clamp the wood, it will just bend.

If possible if you can find another crap snowboard to use instead of wood it makes it easier to clamp. Don't know where you would find one, but if your in Boulder I got an old board you could use, it's just not long enough for a monoski.

Good call. A chick I know has a few. IS this going to be stiff enough for the job though? [To cure without warping?]
