    Thumbs up Las Lenas

So I am stuck in Chicago with no light at the end of the tunnel till summer...so Las Lenas obivously comes to mind.

I will be there during the end of August for at least a week. I have no idea how long I will be there, where I will stay, or who will be with me, but I will be there...

Soooooooooo anyone have any idea how long I should stay, where I should go, and who will be with me?

I think I can convince Honc and my girlfriend...

hey, uh, doood(??) As a transexual naanosaurus, you don't need to know anything but what time you're getting on the plane to leave. Everything else falls neatly into place once you get there. trust me, gonz, you'll do just fine.

Splat is right, and that's the beauty of the place. No plans necessary: show up, go to the Informes Office, tell them you want to rent a bed, you'll figure it all out from there. The one thing I would say, however, is that you need more than a week. Marte is the most unreliable chair on the planet (welcome to August 2002 when it was opened two days in the whole month) and you need some time to allow for the weather to do its thing and allow you to do yours :-)

And, get excited, cuz it's a great place with amazing people!

as splat will tell you money is optional, all you need is enough to throw down on the blackjack table the first night. the trip is basicly free! and my two weeks there were not enough, wished i had a 3rd

I was going to go to las lenas last year, but went to Spain instead to visit some distant family members. This summer my dad and I are planning to make it down south, hope to see some of you maggots/minions there. ¡Las Lenas aquí yo vengo!

You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bowstaff.

    Hey Gonzo...
Do you have to go end of August? It might be good...but chancier condition-wise then. It's better to go early Aug if you can. The major crowds are dying down but conditions are still very good.

I'm planning to go this summer also but for the 1st week of August. I'm trying to arrange a group actually--and have about 6 interested so far. If anyone here is interested please email me and I'll keep you posted on the developing plan. I'm fluent in Spanish so I think I'll be helpful in faciliating a lot of things.

Gotta disagree there. I've been down there for the end of August/beginning of September for the past 3 years and have seen BIG dumps every single year. In fact, it's so consistent that they named the storm! Doesn't get much better than that.

I'll have to work through at least August 15 and will need to be back at school by the 1st of September...so I have a leetle window...

very pumped though. was it bill that rented a place down there for the winter? or is the peyote getting to me? i kinda need to not just show up and line something up ahead since i will hopefully have a lady in tow (like, line something up before I leave, not now...just thinking about it now. and stuff.)

Gonz: if you NEED to make advance reservations I'd contact the people at www.laslenasski.com (I think Mark Lassiter runs that site, jah?). Look into getting 6 people together and an appt. is real affordable, a lot of 'em even have a room w/a big bed downstairs...
