My wife and I ventured to Taos for the second year in a row. I love the place even more, and despite a slight lack of snow. We skied for 7 days straight.
At first, I thought it would be a carving only week. To my surprise things worked out a little better. The night we arrived, Taos received a much needed 7" of fresh.
Sunday: cold temps and the fresh snow made some of the closed terrain look good.

Monday: A little warmer. To my surprise the ski patrol opened Snakedance and Inferno for the first time of the season. Several runs making fresh tracks in knee deep, dense powder. Pretty good, considering the season Taos is having.
Tuesday to Thursday: Mostly carving up the groomers under sunny 40 degree days. On Wednesday Reforma and Blitz opened for the first time of the season. Sweet fresh tracks, and some avy crap. Only got two runs before patrol closed it again.
Friday: All morning on Reforma and Blitz. Some fresh left and hard crud. Very sunny and warm.
Saturday: Last day and the warmest. Luckily Taos is mostly North facing slopes. This is the best day as upper Al's run opened. More fresh tracks. Things worked out really well considering it only snowed one night and Taos is having a snow drought. I never thought I would see fresh tracks all week.
