MUSLIMS IN AUSTRALIA


Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.



Treasurer Peter Costello hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another, the Islamic law, that this is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law, and have the opportunity to go to another country which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said.



Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off". "Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spies monitoring the nation's mosques.

You're missing a couple of hundred years worth of history on how we "got this country". Were you asleep in school? Maybe that's why you buy into so much propaganda, you don't know any better.

Unfortunately, Australia's history with regards to minorities and it's native population is much worse than the US's. Hell, they make the US look like a bunch of tiger scouts.

I wish for the same thing to happen in Norway. The muslims coming here, despite all efforts to integrate them, seem very reluctant to take part in society apart from exploiting a (possibly too) generous welfare system. Sadly, with this being a country that punishes white collar crimes much harder than violent crimes, they also seem to have aquired a taste for the latter. 80% of the cases of rape, murder and armed robbery in Oslo are commited by a muslim minority of 20%. And Oslo used to be one of the safest and most peaceful cities in the world. The numbers from Swedish cities, like Malmö, are similar if not worse. Non-western immigrants that aren't muslims, on the other hand, are doing no worse than ethnic norwegians and swedes. As opposed to Denmark and Australia, the political leadership here completely ignores the problem. The only thing they seem to get is that playing filantropists with the people's money, handing it out to every terrorist leader or war lord asking for it, is the safest and fastest road to a career within the UN.

In Sweden, the largest muslim organization very recently put forward the following demands to the government:

• Muslims should get fridays off
• Imams should be teaching in schools
• Separate swimming classes for girls and boys
• Interest-free loans for muslims
• Imams must "approve" a divorce where at least one of the married is a muslim

I think it's safe to say more demands will follow as the muslim population continues to grow. The irony is that the voters on the left (socialistic) side, who historically have been the ones fighting for womens rights, the right to equal education, freedom of speech, gay rights etc., are the ones who most eagerly welcome it. Following the publishing of the Mohammed cartoons, there was a protest rally in Oslo. The women were forced to form their own section in the back as they marched through the streets, and none of the newspapers with a socialistic redactional policy even bothered to comment.

I don't get people who move to other coutnries but refuse to integrate themselves and demand their adopted homeland adopt the ways of their abandoned homeland.

You see it in the USA with Mexican immigrants. You see it throughout Europe with Muslim immigrants. It's truly mindboggling, especially when other immigrant groups from all continents work so hard to make themselves part of our society.

This is true, but in all fairness we didn't have imported slaves to maltreat and segregate, so we had to turn to the aborigines. Nor was our armed forces ever strong enough to take the war on minorities overseas on such a grand scale as the US tigerscouts. For instance we don't even have bombers to facilitate mass bombing of muslim nations, so we have to take it to the streets and politics, and just play a backup role internationally. We couldn't even carpet bomb Vietnam, but when 1000s of vietnamese moved to Oz, we sure did beat them up in school and take their lunch money!

There is a difference between old european countries and the us or australia. We are by definition a country of immigrants. The need for a common language or legal system was essential from the begining. The older european countries are only just begining to feel the effects of such immigration.

They all want shit on our culture. Go to their country and you might actual get beaten with a bamboo stick for introducing American culture.

I spent a large part of my chilhood in latin america. I learned the language, the culture, but when i go to Denny's in my home town i find it easier to order my Super Bird in spanish. its sad.

I was told about the aboroginies sniffing gas at the gas stations, getting high, and then wandering into traffic and getting hit, they called this a "nigger bomb," that was one example of that word being thrown around that I heard.
