    "I sure hope so."

    - Willie Nelson, when asked if he expects backlash from conservative "country-western" fans for his new anti-war ballad Whatever Happened to Peace

Willie Nelson- the only livingC&W artist I can tolerate.

    Thumbs up

What's funny will be to see the reaction against him versus the Dixie Chicks.
I don't particularly care about their music, but find it funny that stations boycott them etc.
As for Willie, definitely nothing new, glad he still offers the poke in the eye from time to time.

    Plakespear -

I might direct you to the only worthwhile thing (other than Shiner Bock and our own Particle, sorry for outtin ya P-man) to cum out of tex@$$ is the new breed of traditional C&W artists.

    1. Robert Earl Keen (undisputed KING! - Denver mags take note he'll be at the Rose on the 15th & 16th, stock show crowd + The Rose + R. Keen = Fuckin Drunken Good Time)
    2. Jr. Brown
    3. Joe Ely

and many many more. These fellas are putting out real, raw, heartfelt and musically tight music. Unlike the top 40 C&W stars. They're basically inheiriting the "Outlaw" country mantle without being "Outlaw" music.

    CaddyD-

Willie is secure in his position and a well known peacenick, people wanted an excuse to hate the dixies...

I figured the chimpmunk that they claim is one of their singers would have been enough for most folks

Good call on the current "C/W" scene. Keen is amazing and I dig JR. Brown, fun stuff.

Country music is alive and well, it's just not on the radio.

I think a rock band should do a pro-bush pro-war song so all the liberals can cry about it.
