Kirkwood Long Board Day...sunday, sunDAY, SUNDAY!

Mentioned this elsewhere, but Long Board Day deserves it's own thread. It's a shame we haven't been able to have one yet this year, but dammit, it's been snowing since New Year's, and it just wasn't appropriate. But now what better time to have another KW Long Board day than closing day?

SO...for those who forgot...Long Board Day = 210 cm skis or greater.

None of this 2-oh-8, or 2-oh-5, or 2-oh-nothin crap. This isn't old-skinny-straight-retro ski day. Or my-boards-are-kind-of-long board day. It's Long Board Day.

And you have to ski the meat. No just bombing groomers. You need to ski and wreck yourself silly on the shit we usually ski

    210 or greater.

I'll be rockin the 215 Blizzard Thermos.

666 will probably be on some 255 speed skis or something.

    Who else?

If someone loans me a pair I will (315mm boot), otherwise the 188 bros will be underfoot. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Get on e-Bay, pick up some old 210+ DH boards for $5-$10 bucks and get them shipped to your house by Saturday. Time is short...but there is still time. Godspeed.

With that kind of timeframe I'd better check craigslist.... $5 POS's, where are you?

    Long enough?

Shieet, I sold off my 215 cm Dynamic VR27 GS boards last spring! All I have left is a pair of 203 cm Rossi 7Sk. Can I still play if my skis are only kinda long?

    Oh shit, its on!

222's for me. "Speed Giant Slalom" sidecut - whatever that means. Hmmm, or maybe the 223 heavy as fuck Volkls, just to be different...

bc - all my boards are mounted around 324 mm, so it may be tough.

Greydon - you'll be flying down right?

hmmm....well, it seems like my first chair ride of Long Board Day on the high-speed quad Chair 6 will only be seating 2. Me, 666....and we will hold two empty seats in honor of Lemon Boy and powder11 for their Long Board Day supportive efforts. I will place two lonely Descente headbands on their empty seats to show that they'll be there in spirit. I tip my beret to you gents.

don't forget greydon. That makes three and since headbands are not too big I think that both P11 and I will still fit on a quad in a non-gay sort of way mind you.

That's fucking pathetic that you can only muster three pairs of skis longer than 209

Greydon gets his own headband on his own chair all to himself ahead of us. He was the organizer of the first Long Board Day two years ago that never even actually happened. And then he organized the 1st annual Long Board Day last year, which sadly, also only had 1 or 2 particpants. But there is a light at the end of this tunnel and I don't think it's a train...we seem to be growing...will there be 3 participants this year?

DH-boards are for pencil-dicks and hip-checkers. I'm not coming Sunday because I'll be busy studying to become a sell out.
