Very true. Being form the east, I don't have much experience in pow and I need to learn my avi shit. However, I did race for several years and am a quick learner.

Cool I have only been on the west coast since February and I made the list of Whistler TGR locals, and I live in Vancity....I feel so radical

Start running up your local ski hill in your ski boots all summer if you expect to keep up with powder11 on a boot pack.

Yeah you don't want to ski with that LeeLau guy, he is only a meadow skipper, afraid to even look down anything over 27.5 degrees. I heard he added Flute bowl to his list of must do project lines for next season

    1. You're included cause I skied a total of 1 run with you and you show promise. i.e. diamond cornice drop to death. cough... cough....

    2. powder11 ended up behind me on the bootpack up the ladder and I practically sprinted up the thing (then almost died) in fear of his getting stuck behind me wrath.

(Truth be told, I've never met any of you because I'm scared.)

    Bryan, what are you taking?

I've been working on my switch snowplows. Whats nice about this move is you don't get surprised when people rip by you.

I'm going to be studying physics. Not sure what I want to do with it, but it fascinates me and should I switch to another major, it wouldn't be too hard of a leap.

So true. The only way you'll fall behind is because of the vert/altitude, but altitude shouldn't be THAT big of an issue.

Yep, another UBCer here. I haven't met up with these guys yet either. The physics department out here is pretty good, some good profs, some bad... same as everywhere I guess. The lecture theatres in the physics building were all redone last year, so the facilities are pretty sweet.

Just remember, the Whistler/Blackcomb student pass goes on sale in October. It's a killer deal at $380 for the entire season unlimited.

Anyways... are any of you other UBCer's heading up to Whistler this weekend? My last exam is on Friday, and I'll be heading up there Saturday morning (but probably fairly late for booze reasons )

    UBC

I'm also here at UBC. Haven't been on the board very long so I have also not had a chance to meet up with anybody.

The physics profs I've had are all pretty good, one of them especially good.

IHeartWhistler: Which physics building were you refering to? I though hennings was the physics building, but the chairs in there are all broken and uncomfortable.

yeah, I was talking about Hennings. The three main lecture halls were all redone recently. Those old wooden crappy ones are gone. And the new projectors kick ass. They're video ones that have a little camera looking down on the sheet, then the image is projected from the back of the room. It means you never have probs with profs standing in front of the stuff they're writing... really good.

Who was the especially good prof? Witt? McKenna? (those were my favorites)

I was refering to McMillan, he teaches 170. Never had to look in the book because his lectures were so good.

I've only had Witt for some review sessions for 153, but he is very easy to understand and makes me wish I was in his class during the rest of the year.

I'll have to look in at hennings before i leave. It needed a refit.

Welcome to camp UBC. Keep up and we will take you to the promised land of epic proportions.
Also wanted to say you made the best decision of your life coming here.
Postman thinks I'm older than I am, because I'm still 20 and Sam is under 20.
Make sure you look us up next winter.
And Lee-I'm 5 feet tall where it counts...watch that touring bunny of a wife you've got. Smack!

From the sounds of the reports I've been reading, Atrain505 made the educational choice I always wish I had done... limiting the number of days/week of classtime.

Heh, this makes me wonder, in what ballpark for number of days of skiing is everyone in? I'm pretty disapointed with my 30 or so. I blame it on my seven courses, but hey, I already took a year off for skiing.
