Even funnier is trying to find some one to mount her in SLC and WY :-)...

Would the spatulas be a good ski to mount Fritschi's on?

I've definitely been considering it, but I also have a nice pair of salomon's I could use, and then try and pick up a cheap pair of atomic's for the freerides.

I've had Fritschis on my Spats for 3 years. It is pretty retarded to tour in them. That said, I have them because I exclusively use AT boots and the release characteristics are a little more reliable with Fritschis.

The Spat/Fritschi is a super-fun inbounds combo for me.

If you're using AT boots, go with the Fritschis. If not, go with the alpine bindings. Tour with another ski*.

    * Note: This assumes your touring doesn't consist solely of shuttles and that you're actually going to skin; if not, hiking with Spats on your back is still not the greatest idea -- but you could still easily stick with the Sollys.

If you do go with the Fristchi mount, be sure to go with someone you trust (or be very careful). Getting the Fritschi mount right is not hard -- but it demands patient...and the person doing the mount will most likely have to freehand it on the Spat. Also, drilling through the metal layer (with not much ski underneath) demands extra care.

Since you're headed to Tahoe just get them mounted at Granite Chief. They know how to do it.

    I think that guy died.

Stingray spine to the pelvis or something.

Ironically his will said something about spats going to kidwoo.

He already paid for them right?

interesting, I had completely forgot about this and ordered AT boots instead.

LSB, let me know what happens if it falls through, although I may end up passing to the next person in line.

This is assuming that I was next in line after BridgerBro.
(which I think is right referencing the post timestamps)

I'll do $475 shipped, brand new in the plastic.

And I might have a line on a mint pair mounted with 914s, used only 2 or 3 days. But those won't be available to ship til december/early january...
    PM if interested.

since ebay came around, i think peoples' definition of mint has changed to no longer reflect what 'mint' really means.

Haha.........you should see what "5 days" of skiing did to a pair of gotamas I bought here last year. He forgot to mention it was 5 days in a black hole I think.

    ^^Frickin gear swap JONGS...

Can't believe I'm about to geek out semantically but it seems necessary with youse guys:

If mint to you means brand new in the wrapper, then obviously the second pair of spats I mention aren't mint.

But if mint means indistinguishable from a freshly mounted, never skied pair, then these are mint. They were skied 8-10 runs in deep ut pow by a non-aggressive skier who decided he liked his gotamas better.

Whoever gets em will be stoked, whatever mint means.
