need at least 2, vegas or denver would be best. Other wise i have to take even more work off and that increases my costs even more, so paying the 400 to 600 would be about the same as travel all the way out there.

    Thanks though!

sorry I should be more clear.

The are UNDRILLED, brand spanking. They had the plastic wrapping on them, but I took it off because it was falling off.

Some superfical rust on the edges, just from being in a car carrier for 2 days. You can rub it off with your fingers. They have spent their life in my living room ever since.

    ...And I by $100

(To add them to the already redundant collection of powder skis I probably don't have the money for, really don't need, but somehow would still really like to own.)

BSS if your serious for $350, PM me your location. I'll calculate shipping (unless your in the immediate area). If shipping isn't too bad I'll pay it.

I can't believe nobody's jumped on these yet.

BUY THEM. Not available on ebay anymore... not for a long time. Incredibly fun. Best tree-skiing pow ski I've tried -- pivot on a dime. Not as stable as traditional cambered skis going fast, but maybe that's just me.

hmm I find myself contemplating this ski everytime i see this thread bumped.

I dont need two powder skis, and Im not really one to "charge" like Im sure some people on here do so Im sure the spat would be fine in that regard. But Im in colorado, so while it does snow a lot here, it doesnt really puke like in Utah for super deep days and the need for a spat type ski. I do however love skiing trees, arguably my favorite place to be on any day.

Im wondering how much usage Id put on some spats vs ski X.

For now, just assume ski X is a powder plus or axiom that weighs a good bit less and has a tad more sidecut in a ~180 length.

    me 5'10, 170lb, aggressivish.

    thoughts?

Pechelman... the Spat is *completely* different than a ski with a trad sidecut.

For whatever it's work, I think one of their strongest points is their performance in cut-up snow and crust (as well as

I personally have found that they can be skied very hard...and they're solid at landing air due to their weight/stability. (This is not to say that they are the *most* stable, but I do find that they *are* stable...in my experience.)

In conditions where a side with traditional sidecut is hooking (particularly crust), the Spat allows you to bomb full-speed -- the tips will *never* dive, whereas even a wide ski (>105mm waist) will experience some weird stuff/tip dive in soft snow with a crust layer.

Traditional sidecut on a pow ski is awesome for deep, soft snow, but is not *always* so great for windbuff, deep variable snow, etc. That's where the Spat truly shines.

For what it's worth, at the beginning of last season, I was contemplating selling my Spats, but I decided to take them out for "just one more day to say goodbye". I had so much fun on them -- I had completely forgotten how much fun they are in steep trees and funky conditions. I'm keeping 'em even though I have dp Lotus 120s & 138s on order.

It now sounds like there are some skis that would give the Spat a run for the money (and maybe be a bit better than Spats on some firm stuff -- although the Spats are *totally* skiable in those conditions)...but at the price there is no way to come close. (e.g. dp 138, EHP 193, Pontoons, etc....but they're all around the $800 mark -- definitely not "value" skis.)

They're just so much damn *fun*.

    Just my $0.02.
