Some people I know were involved in an avalanche. I have no further information but there was a spinal injury in the group. Hoping for the best

So they are no longer worried about his legs...his vision problems are baffling the doctors. It looks like his blood pressure dropped so low during the operation on his back that not enough blood got to his optical nerves...and now he can't really see. I made this site for him:

    www.caringbridge.org/visit/willymac

If you get a minute, hop on there and sign the guest book. Any maggot references will be misinterpreted, but he has been living in the mountains for 3 years now and is a skiier, so skiier thoughts would be appropriate.

    Thats fucking horrible...

Gonzo, you happen to know if he wore BA and stuff?
Lof of my friends (and me) have been injured in the last years in the DH, so this really hits close.

    Vibes for him, a lot.

Sorry - should have said any "maggot" or "TGR" references will be confused.

He had a helmet but not BA on. Super mellow road up with drainage ditches and he just wrecked funny.

    Thanks for the vibes folks.

I'm bummed to hear that his vision hasn't returned yet. Are they thinking it may be permanent, or still no idea whatsoever??? Still sending positive vibes.....we'll keep them coming ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++

vision is not improving as fast as his legs. he went in to rehab with his legs @ 20/50 and he was at 29/50 within a week. he is likely at 35/50-ish now. his eyes are still variable and seem to be improving slightly. he says it is just really really dark. like he is in a dark bar and has sunglasses on. i think making improvements on his legs and getting him positive and upbeat help his eyes to though. fingers crossed!!! thanks for the vibes folks!

Don't know why I haven't posted here before, but I hope your buddy continues his improvement.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
