    Cool article.

It always bugs me, though, when people can't figure out that it is Joneses (as weird as that looks)...as there is no possession involved, just a plural of a name).

    Sorry. Grammar geek.

    Basically:
    1. if you're talking about something that belongs to one person, add -'s (apostrophe & s., e.g. Eric's or Wes's)
    2. if you're talking about multiple people (no possession), add -s or -es (e.g., many Smiths, many Joneses, many Erics, many Weses...)
    3. if you're talking about something that belongs to multiple people, then combine 1 & 2: make it plural, then add an apostrophe (-s' or -es')

So...in this case there are two Joneses...but there is nothing possessive = "Keeping up with the Joneses".

The Joneses' lives (multiple people, possessive) are freaking amazing. They rock.

I hate it, but I always notice this stuff...and it always seems to be hanging on someone's porch, or in this case in the graphic banner/header of an article.

Apostrophes aside, Steve and Todd have flat-out been livin' the dream and making our lives better for more than a decade now. Mad props for that.

There are plenty of smaller companies out there that provide tons of soul. I don't even see tgr or matchstick movies as becoming diluted and sold out. What was the better party movie to see at a premier? Echo, or Hit List?
I'd choose Hit List or Tangerine Dream.

A few years ago Warren Miller was getting stale, some new companies came out and blew peoples minds. Now they have settled down a bit, are still putting out quality products, but are no longer the uber core image they once were. New companies appear, and in a few years they change or disapear. Its the way things happen, its inevitable, and its not neccesarily a bad thing. Change is good, it keeps things from getting boring.

Oh, and I expected this article to be about Jermey Jones for some reason.

If more mainstream money comes in , we naturally have to do something for it. i.e "presented by Jeep" means you are going to see some shots of jeeps.

What you also get to see is some pretty core riders going to some pretty cool locations. It is the only way we can make it happen.

TO DATE- TGR has never made a profit on a ski film. It is a loosing venture. We put way more into it than we get back. Even with all the sponsorship dollars we still run in the red for the ski film.

SO we try and pick up commercials, tv shows, etc to keep the lights on.

--You seemed to love Team 13. However, as Slip discussed at length they just couldn't make ends meet & unfortunately went away.

We here at TGR dance that edge every year.

So does try8ing to stay in business make us "mainstream" - beats me. I think the athletes that film with us and the terrain we film in certainly isn't something you see everyday.

But in the end what we & others do in our industry is a necesarry side of the equation. There just are not enough of you out there buying the films to break the cycle of sponsorship dollars being needed.

i think there's a big difference between being successful and "selling out." Selling out means abandoning your principles, while success means that others have come to appreciate and enjoy your principles.

Tangerine Dream still meant skiing hard and having fun. Nothing wrong with that. Unlike Warren Miller, it wasn't an hour-long commerical.
