Proabably just an old stocked rainbow in Clear Creek Res near leadville, but it was the biggest fishy I'd ever caught. 20" from shore with a lure similar to a Rapala.

This is a Laker not a Pike.

Here is a pike another lucky fucker friend of mine caught at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal last spring. 44” 20+ pounds. It ate a leech and was caught on a 7 weight with NO STEEL leader. This shit just doesn’t happen to me

Thanks for clarifying that. Although I couldn't argue with the statement pike does not equal trout it had nothing to do with my photo of a lake trout.

me and my dad always have a good laugh at some of the harcore trout fishers on Texas Creek, we roll with Zebco 33 classics, ugly sticks and spiiner bait we use for sandbass and crappie

a total Bass setup minus the lure =P

edit: we laugh because they always try to help us and tell us how we should be fishing, and we always catch enough in one week for a 60-80 person fish fry in October =P

its on video somewhere, no stills. I'll see if I can dig it up

(that size isn't unusual in that river-the fly record is over 50lbs)

I knew the clarification was for TN, just meant thanks for saving me from doing it.

I caught it on some shiny lure ( more catching then fishing) and 10 lb test. No idea how the line stayed intact with the prick darting back forth under the boat and dragging the line across the bottom of it. Here's where I caught it more or less. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...in=0&longsec=0

You may have to zoom out some to really sort out where it is.

Not too worried about giving the secret away. Not really much of a fisherman just dumb assed luck to catch the biggest fish of the week up there that week.

24" lake trout. He was hung up for a while on some rocks and we watched another Mack come in to check out the commotion... that one looked like it could have eaten the one that was on my line, so I never really got a big head about it... instant humbling.

think Tap might be close! Nice Pig (rainbow)

Who's got a Toad (brown) in double digits?
    I've got one at 4.5 kilogram = 9.920 801 798 pound, 69cm = about 27,6"
So, pretty close to double digits! (Caught at Finnish Bay on 3th of December 2001, just few miles outside of Helsinki City, our Capital!). Here's the pic:

Ok, it's a sea going brown trout...the ones we call "sea trouts" here. But Baltic Sea (and Finnish Bay especially) is brackish water anyway (= a mix of salt and fresh water)...so I don't know if this counts?

Still, the catch of my life. The sea trout is very picky one when in the sea (actually easier to catch when in the river in these parts of the world) and these days everything over 3kg (~6 pounds) is pretty rare.

Nice! Yeah, I’d really love to get down to Patagonia and chase some of those monster sea run browns and do some “summer skiing”.

My largest was 24 inch, but mine came from Wisconsin so that was a real trophy for the area. Your trout is HUGE! Great picture.

    Good Luck,

This is about as large as any of the biggest trout I've caught. Mostly streams outside of Lander, WY. Some of you guys have hooked bigass trout.

    Thanks.

Wasn't there a story in some old powder about a guy who ski toured (w/ some light tele set up) around Patagonia and had also some light fly fishing gear with him? (talkin' about livin' the life!)

I hooked a 35 lb king on a sz 18 adams and a 12 pound chum on a sz 12 stimulator, so single egg, what I use for kings anyway

I guess the steely counts cause it was from freshwater
