Sorry to hear about your pup Bobby. Sounds like you need a higher fence. Hope you have found her by now.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Stalefish, is your dog a Samoyed or an American Eskimo? I have been discussing with the wife that I would like one of each down the road.

Obviously Chase is a purebred GSD, but I'm not sure about Rudy. His previous humans thought he was a GSD Lab mix, but I don't see the lab at all. I think he's more of a Collie actually. His mannerisms and hair make me think that. Regardless they are freaking awesome.

The one on the right is really happy about having his picture taken...

Are those both yours DBS? I knew about the one on the right (forgive please, I forget his name).

Chase has been with me since he was a pup. I rescued Rudy from some apartment dwellers in Issaquah a couple months ago. And, yes, he loves having his picture taken.

Nice looking pups, but did you really have to take this thread to NSFW? Sheeesh.

Glad you found your pooch alpy. The feeling while they're away can be pretty nerve racking. I always know my dog has the smarts to be ok. It's stupid humans I worry about while he's roaming.

liv2ski my dog is a samoyed. However, at 45 pounds he is at the small end of the spectrum. American eskies are smaller, have longer noses, and are generally more wiry coated.

LMAO. Now I get Chainsaw Willies comment. I thought that problem would be cured once I got him fixed, but alas, he still walks around with wood. It's actually being told what to do that gets him riled up. You should have seen him in obedience school.

I love GSD and their many variations. Look at those faces. Just to fucking cute. I want another dog so bad, but I am waiting until at least next Summer for a puppy or until my 17 year old cat passes to adopt an older dog. So this thread keeps me going. Thx for posting up the pictures guys.

My dog took on a bear last night. The bear pushed in my front door and went right for the kitchen trash. Lady, a 12 year old lab/pit mix took off out of the bedroom and chased the bear out of the house. The sounds were absolutely primal as she encountered the bear in the living room. I guess she got between the bear and it's way out and the bear took a swipe.

By the time I got out of the bedroom and closed the kids doors she was back in the house huffing and puffing with her hair standing up and tail pointed straight up. There was blood on the floor so I told my wife to check on Lady while I went for the guns. When I came back upstairs I saw the gash and meat exposed on her shoulder. We wrapped her up in a ace bandage and gauze and I loaded the shotgun and 30-06. My wife went in to the bedroom to look out the window and told me the bear was coming back. I had it in my sites but it backed off because I didn't have a clear shot.

The bear came back once again between my house and the neighbors but disappeared into the shadows when the motion light turned on. The dog laid at the foot of our bed for rest of the night and we took her to the vet this morning. She received an unknown amount of stitches on the inside and seven staples to close the wound.

If the bear comes back tonight it will be dead on the spot. I spoke to wildlife management and the police this morning and last night. As long as I kill it on the property I am good to go. This is the third time in a little over a week that the bear has been up my stairs.

I have not left out any garbage, never feed or encourage bears to come around, but for some reason my house smells good to it. We'll see how it likes the smell of gun powder and lead.

I have a new respect for the old girl. She has been slowing down as of late and I really thought she was on her out in the last few months. The rate of speed and her willingness to protect the pack really brings a tear to my eye. When she feels better tomorrow she will get bacon for breakfast, and bacon wrapped steak covered in cat treats for dinner.

A few pics from a hike and paddle in the highlands during the long weekend

Almost lost the pup this Aug, she got a horrible GI track infection that took most of 3wks to recover from. We are still working on healing her esophagus from all the vomiting. Her weight and spunk has fully returned, though!
