Anybody have health insurance for their dog? Recommendations?

CJ got into a scuffle at the dog park that ended up with a hole in his leg. My wallet's hurting a lot more than he is.

VIP Pet Insurance, but i think it has to be done as a puppy or you get killed with pre existing, or maybe as the dog is older they charge more can't remember.

Getting ready for trial season by working the dogs on wild birds. It doesn't get much more fun than this.

This I believe is my setter after the flush on the first bird.

Another point. As you can see it was tough to locate my dog once the bell stops.

One of her last points of the day.

I'm going to have to match your pointing dog stoke with some retriever stoke. Mine is finally up to speed handling on blind retrieves, so I'll get some pics at our Wednesday training.

Hey it's just a dog right

So sorry for your loss. Luckily my pups still got a handful of years left, not looking forward to crying like a bitch when I get to what you're going through now. Hang tough, +++++VIBES++++++

    ^^^^^^^ Awesome photo!

.... HDL, sorry for your loss. We lost our dog Dallas in January. It's by far the worst thing I've ever been through. We recently got a new pup and it's great to have a furry friend running around the house again. I'll post some pics of the new guy soon.

HDL, Sorry for your loss... 14 years a long time, but only makes it harder, I'm sure. I'd love to see some pics of the dude if you're up for it.

5 months old, 43lbs, first grouse walk....no birds to be seen but lots of new smells and sights. Little man had his nose glued to the ground the whole time--pretty cool to see the various instincts come into fruition.

Here's mine after running a very hard 120 yard water blind! She refused a few casts on the first try, and then lined it on the second. Not bad for a ditzy Irish Water Spaniel who is just learning to handle.

I think it's time for Fall Days Afield thread. Three more weeks before grouse season opens here. I'm going to miss opening weekend due to a trial I'm running, but I'll be running around in the woods this weekend trying out my new Garmin Astro, and blank pistol. I'm going to try to bring the camera.

You pointer people are always in a rush...I can't put mine on upland birds for a few months because all the handling progress we're making would grind to a sudden halt when she starts quartering. The fields flood for duck hunting some time in November usually.

No hurry....just want Steve to discover grouse before he leaves for pointer camp tomorrow for a month. More curiosity than anything at this point.

    I'll start the field thread.

Decided to bring the camera on my hike with Zeke tonight.
