Does anyone use Musher's Secret for paw protection? Works pretty well

Big fan of Mushers Secret (I would quote you but I can't). The key is I put it on his paws when he's standing up, last thing I do before locking the car to go on a tour, so he has no thought to sit down and try to lick it off, thus wetting his paws and making them more likely to freeze in the process. I slather it on quite generously in between his toes and wipe off excess on his fur above his ankles. He used to hate it when I put it on, now I think he understands why b/c he hates the snowballs that otherwise build up when touring.

I go through probably 2 or 3 of the larger jars every winter, refilling a smaller jar that I keep in my pack. Good stuff.

How is that stuff to clean up? Is there a lot to remove at the end of the day?

I've never noticed any to clean up. I always check his paws when loading the car and it's like it was never there. When using on the trails we usually tour anywhere from 3-6 miles, longer days I usually reapply a little mid-way through- he tells me when snowballs start to form as he lifts his paws or lays down to try to remove himself. I don't use around the house and I don't use on packed-down trails, just not necessary. I also keep his paw fur trimmed pretty regularly. YMMV

To add- I find that the wax keeps his paw pads a little less rough and more supple throughout the winter. I think any residual just gets absorbed if not rubbed off.

Agree on mushers. Used to have a golden whose paws and legs were snow magnets. Works great. I used to rub some in his feathers if snow was deep. Helped get the dingleberrys out

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Such a happy little guy. Runs around for an hour and then naps a little while.

Why is it appealing to eat one's own vomit?

..... and with your own vomit, you can trust what's in it, more than somebody else's.

If it didn't work out so well the first time, why will it work out better the second time???

And what happened to Stumpy Joe?

Well, it's not a very pleasant story.
    ...he died.

He choked on... the official explanation was he choked on vomit.

-It was actually someone else's vomit.

They can't prove whose vomit it was. They don't have facilities in Scotland Yard.
You can't really dust for vomit.

Well. it's already partly digested, so less work. Prolly just got surprised at how good it was initially and wanted to verify the high quality.

I am not sure if I already posted this photo of Bjorn chilling on the outdoor couch with us as the sun goes down. Kitty cats were in the catio and we were drinking wine. It was a wonderful evening for all.

I have been crying my eyes out for the last 24 hours but it's really hard to stay sad when I have this little kool just being so silly.
