This is the douche asking you to prove yourselves. Have at it if you want to be in his club; he ain't the maggotgatekeeper. Nobody is but you - which is why it's such an interesting place.

Off-topic now, I suppose, but here's a question: does the fact that I like skiing bumps make me less of a maggot? Obviously, as any sensible skier should, I hope for bottomless days every day (except you need a day every once in a while for just going really fast), but I genuinely enjoy every kind of skiing: bumps, groomers, fast turns through crud on the East Wall, billygoat lines, carvable steeps, natural halfpipes (ooooh Dick's Ditch ), boxes (suck too much for rails so far), jumping off shit (taking time off from the manmade variety)--you name it, I'll ski it, and I'll smile while doing it.

I may be wrong, but that sentiment seems to embody being a maggot much more than a simple obsession with powder (in reference to shera's post). I had always thought maggots were just people who just really really like to ski, like the guy who wrote to Powdermag talking about Sage Cattabriga skiing in the rain. The collective wit has just been a bonus. Hope I'm right about this...

I've met hundreds of maggots, and I hang out with maggots in real life everyday. It's a little different being a part of the community, as opposed to being a guy like you who has no better place to hide while posting is opinions on a message board. When you decide to leave the house and meet people in real life, let us all know.

Yeah, and technically I have a wife too. Apparentally though, looking at how this thread has gone, we bumpers need to stick together so yeah, flirting IS cool!

You came here to find a krew and gf - not everyone does. Too each their own. If you want to moderate your own society why not set up a souldouche bb? You could really be king then - you could hide behind hundreds of avatars! Just think of the places you could hide and the psyops you could conduct!

It ain't your fucking community - just because you've driven away everyone else doesn't mean you are king.

I've skied in the rain and just about every other condition and love it all. It's all good!! That's the point: If it's skiing, it's good. If you truly have the passion, it's ALL GOOD. Some of it may be better than other parts but, it all is better than anything else you could be doing on a winter's day.

    Almost poetry MG!

IMHO that is a great definition of a maggot/ette. Just the pure love and passion for skiing/riding that rings true in your soul.

Doesn't matter what/where you ski, as long as you are passionate about it.

Goldmember - yeah uh, after the bashing/fighting going on in this thread, hell yeah let the bumpers stick together. And you'll find this interesting- just applied for a position as a US Ski Team C Team Mogul Coach. WOW would that be an awesome job.

Oh and Gosey, It is just Rebecca Romijn now...she got divorced and dropped the Stamos.

Ugh, and I am a pussy, I try NOT to ski in the rain. Only time I really do is when the kids I coach drag me out into the wetness!

    Special maggot status???

It's the internet if you haven't noticed, open to everyone, unless there is a charge for joining, then it's WIDE open.

Good luck on the coaching job! Would that involve moving to Colorado? I assume that's where the mogul team trains. Or are they in Utah with the Aerials team? Nice opportunity, I hope it works out for you.

When I taught, I swear it rained every day. The kids didn't care. They just wanted to ski! I've free-skied in the rain though too. Usually just 3 or 4 runs, until you're too wet but the snow can actually be pretty fun. Nice and creamy, at least until it gets too saturated and turns into a runnelled mess. Still fun though, for a while anyway.

Hey cuntbag. I've got tons of non-maggot friends, had a "krew" before TGR and I've never had a problem with girls. However, I met my "internet girlfriend" on a photo shoot for Powder magazine. She rules, and I bet she skis way better than your cubicle dwelling bitch ass. Glad you seem to think you know everything about the "king". Get your peasant ass back to work, poser. (and learn when to stfu.....hint-that's now.)

What's really pathetic is your introverted hermit ass doesn't leave the house and needs to learn everything you can about people living the life you wish you were. Sack up, dork.

It's so obvious. Anyone that joined in 2002 or earlier is a Mag the rest are Jr. Mags. That is until the Govenator declares amnesty.

I think I was waxing philosophical on Powdermag in 2002. Do those 2 years grandfather over for me? That would be a real bummer to be dropped to Jr. Maggot status when I though I was playing on the varsity.

If you look at some of my postings, you've got to admit I've got some of he talent needed to be a full on Maggot. If my parents had only pushed me in the right direction when I was a youth, things would be very different today. For realz.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

I am a long way from a maggot. I have probably contributed very little. Not because I don't want to but I ski the small mountains of North Carolina. Our TR tend to focus on the beer at some point.

There is nothing that I ski that would interes anyone here. I am very thankful just to make the turns I do. And go west once a year.

However there is a wealth of knowlege here, knowlege that should be respected and that deserves respect, To think that someone would take advantage of a good deal that was offered to them and try to profet is ludicrous. At the very least it should be offered back to the folks at the TGR. A bro trying to help some one out should not be shit on by the perspn who got the shit.
I love this place even though I don't have much to say somply because I don't ski the big mountains enough. But someone who would do some of the shit that has been said here (ebay and all) should be hung from their fucking testicles. Shit ain 't right.

I am here for the same reasons as most. I love the mountains and snow skiing, so maggot or not this is how I feel. I know that there are a lot of selfish people in the world and they will migrate here and there is not much you can do but keep on being happy and loving the snow. That is about all I got except I hope maybe to meet some of you at Aspen in January.

Eh... I just noticed that that is NOT Rebecca Romijn in my last post. WTF, she looked so hot on google images. Edit: not the one, but it'll do. For now.

Edit2: and this one will do nicely...

    Agreed.

And who cares? I partake in this community and have fun. And I have waaaaay more fun when I'm actually on my skis, rain, wind, whatever conditions.

I love skiing and like the stoke around here.

Call me what you want. Jr Mag? Sure...

It seems you're in search of TGR God status and a "myspace" type experience here, but ultimately what's your point? I'm content with my close knit group of non-maggot ski buds who I trust with my life in ski country. We're probably very similar to the hordes of hardcores that wander through this board, some silent and some with 100's-1000's of posts. But am I loser because I don't want really want/need to expand my ski circle? Even though I don't logistically see many opportunities to meet other members, my buds and I support maggots like Splat by a collective purchase of 3 pairs of Bros 188s.

You got one too many lifter plates under that high horse of yours.

Gawd, I gotta go to work, so I hope you guys all hash this out when I'm gone.

But before you get your panties too wadded up about old vs new maggots, try to look at it from the other side - because you will have to someday.

Can you imagine what it feels like to have gapic jongs coming in ALL THE TIME, BY THE HUNDREDS and telling you what kind of skiing is cool and how to ski right and what defines a maggot. It can get annoying. Sorry.

New people come on the forum all the time and get assimilated very smoothly. Others don't.

Is that what makes him so tall?

What you said is very cool and I really appreciate the fact that there are a lot of silent awesome skiers out there lurking. I post less and less anymore. There's just not time.
