Hehe, if you're talking about Brett, he's never seen the inside of a cubicle in his life. And all he's doing is stirring the soup anyway. Once you get to know him you can see that better.

Yeah, I hear you guys on the moguls. It's like going to the gym or somethng.

I'm going to spend one day a week in moguls next season to train for my level two cert. So excited.

Hey, make the most of it! Pick days where they're fairly soft so you don't beat the crap out of yourself. Make sure you're on the right skis too. You probably don't want to be taking Bro Models (or whatever you're normally on) through the bumps. Moguls really are fun once you get the hang of them. And they do give you a great workout.

Good lord - I ski on 180 Explosivs. It's like cranking the titanic around. So much easier to just point straight down the hill.

Just a question for you all:
Do you hate moguls, or do you hate making small turns in moguls? The locals up at loveland mach through those things, making humongous turns. I think they are ok, if you make big enough turns, and if their not super hard.

I don't hate moguls per se, but do really dislike skiing in them because I'm not skilled in doing so. Hence it majorly slows me down, and I fall down in them & twist my knees around & stuff fearing the dreaded "pop" of the ACL.

But I have the full respect and admiration of anyone who can successfully and rapidly zip a line in them. That's a beautiful sight. I'd like to be that person one day!

Turns are usually kind of dictated by the moguls. If they're spread out and more or less just piles of soft snow, I'll blow through them with big turns at mach. If they're firmer and closer together, you need to turn more and take what they give you. The important thing is to pick your line and mentally be about 4 turns ahead of where you're actually at. Anticipate, absorb, and extend. Keep your head up, ski fall line, and ski your line.

Actually, this has gotten way off-topic and is more 'epic' than I like to be. Go ahead, somebody JONG me....

Actually, the background as a bumper plays well into being a good powder skier. With moguls, like powder, it ain't all about carving (although carving a turn is also a good skill to have to be an all-conditions skier). A lot of great powder and big-mountain skiers were mogul skiers/competitors in years past, including the likes of Hattrup, Plake, and a bunch of others.
Goldmember I like your style. You an ex freestyle competitor??

So very true, all of it. Racing is the best background to have. It instills all the basic & complex fundamentals of skiing. Most high caliber mogul skiers were once upon a time racers first. Skiing bumps is all around a good thing. It is a challenge, good for stamina and endurance, and good exercise. I still love skiing Pow too - just don't get to much of that on the Ice Coast. And even better- POWDER MOGULS! Face shots are money!

Here is a picture of sexy me skiing bumps - lookers right:

    Niiiiiice!!

Head up, feet together, knees together, hands in front, feet over the skis....nice form! Great picture!

More (former) coach and organizer than competitor. But that was a looooong time ago.. Now I just free ski and do some minor league film/photo stuff.

Depends on your definition of 'soup' and what he's using to 'stir' it with.

I wonder if that is why they bailed on Aspen today?

Ha Ha! I love it! I'll have to get back to you though. I'm late for a meeting right now. But I'll also tell you, I'm probably old enough to be your dad!

Well, that little interlude by the bump skiers makes it painfully obvious why skiing was drifting into lame status in so many peoples eyes.

That is ok because technically I have a husband. Flirting is fun though!

Thanks dude. What's your excuse for being so lame?

Please don't force me to start using winkies.

Maybe the maggot qualifications need to include the ability to sense a joke w/o the use of those things.

Damn, Tracy, I was gonna say the same thing. If there isn't powder to be found, I'll ski bumps all day, love the challenge of them, and love the workout. It feels damn sweet when you nail a line in them. And yeah, not on Bros, but on Mantras, so not much different. Sure, a narrower ski might be easier, but who cares, those are the skis that are on my feet.

that was one of thing i liked about my mantras...they were soft enough to ski bumps on. they were also soft enough to bend 'em, too...which is why volkl is stiffening them.

I used a smiley face didn't I? Sarcasm my friend. Sometimes the interweb makes it hard to sense jokes/sarcasm etc.

    Just keeping the peace. Word.

Hey douchebag cjong1f-you are an alias. What maggots have you met? Do you ski? still waiting for that too. You're not spraying under any real name, just spraying. So please squee-jee the floor so none of us slip on the puddle you left with your soggy muff. Stupid bitch.
