I am immensely proud to invite you to join Ben Stookesberry and myself on the journey that is No Big Names 4: Hotel Charley. This is a uniquely profound film of first descents run in Central and South America: Antioquia Colombia, Minas Gerais Brazil and Chiapas Mexico. Hotel Charley began as a two month expedition to tell the story behind the inimitability of each country visited. I think Ben describes it best when he said “this is probably the craziest part… I simply choose to revisit the two hardest and most spectacular rivers in two of the most dangerous places on earth. Placing one descent on each side of a month long expedition to still unknown canyons of interior Brazil seemed like a fitting centerpiece to the most spectacular kayaking expedition I could dream up. I am still amazed that it all came to fruition."
Please join us during our month long tour beginning April 21st with the World Premier in Hood River OR. The tour schedule can be found at: http://www.oregonkayaking.net/
Also, you can follow along with Ben and me as we tell the in depth stories of our trip also at: http://www.oregonkayaking.net/
We have posted the following stories so far and will continue to post more in the coming months:
Upper Buey River
Two Gringos in Colombia
Campo Belo River
Santa Domingo River
I'll overlook the poor style of the SPAM first post since you have been so killing it with your efforts on Oregonkayaking.net. I just read your TR on the Santo Domingo tonight... very beautiful and good entertainment. I'm sad to see that there are no Canadian dates on your tour. If you are ever up this way, look me up. I've got just what you are looking for.
I think I saw something on mountainbuzz.com for a Colorado date. I believe in cahoots with confluence kayaks in Denver. I'll swing by and check it out.
Scratch that, Fort Collins. I'll still check it out.
I guess it's in D-town too. That is some nutty shit man, and beautiful. Blue water rivers are soooo cool.
SJP, Sorry about the borderline spam. I am just trying to get the word out as best I can. I love Canada for its beauty, kayaking and back country skiing and also wish we could make it there. I have done several skiing trips to Rogers Pass including Fairy Meadows and am blown away each time.
Rootskier, Eric Link was nice enough to set up our tour schedule for us. I know he spent a lot of time on this, so I am very glad for his help. Next tour I will push for a Montana showing also.
Aaron, I believe Shannon is teaching English as a second language in Asia. I am sure Ben would have more details.
All, thank you so much for your positive feedback on the trip reports. A lot of work goes into those by Jason Rackley (the owner of oregonkayaking.net), Ben and myself. It makes it all worth while to know people are enjoying them.
i've only met ben once at a party in gunny, CO so i don't know him but is there any contact info for shannon?
i cant imagine going a second season without boating/swimming something with him..... he raved about how much fun the panama/ columbia trip was the first time.....
