Geekier geeks then me: Password protected screensavers without going back into login.

I have this dumbass (yet awesome) Win XP. I can't go back to the login cuase it disconnects the ol' 56K. If I remember correctly before Win XP you could hae a little promt when you try and un-screensaver it. I need that. Anyway you can do that....

Don't use a screensaver. Just set your monitor to shut off (powersave) instead.

Right click on the desktop. Select Properties. Go to the screensaver tab. Check off the box that says prompt for password on resume. Click OK.

    Something like that.

DrC, it's not that easy. It will give you the option to go to a login. Damnit. Can I borrow 400 bucks so I can build my own computer? that would solve my problem nicely.

think I can help, but I'm not sure I understand the question.

Are you using XP home of pro?

When you say a login screen, you mean like when you boot the PC up, the screen where you get a little symbol by your name like a guy kicking a soccer ball?

If so, this is fast user switching, which can be turned off.

That works. Although it's not the all that subtle. Works though. Thanks.
